Unregistered marriages are a persistent problem. These marriages have significant impacts on families, particularly on child protection. These impacts include childcare, custody, child support, child status, and other child rights protection. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the legal regulations regarding the protection of children born from unregistered marriages in Indonesia and to analyze the implementation of child protection from unregistered marriages in Namorambe District. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection methods in the form of interviews and observations. The results show that in Namorambe District, several children are affected by parental divorce, one of the causes of which is the couple's unpreparedness for marriage. The impact on children becomes more complex when the parents' marriage is not legally registered, as some parents feel they do not have a strong sense of responsibility towards their children. This condition prevents children's rights from being fulfilled optimally. Therefore, efforts are needed to strengthen legal protection and parental responsibility to ensure the fulfillment of children's rights and well-being.
