This study examines the relationship between sedentary lifestyle and the level of physical activity of vocational school students in Gresik. This quantitative research with a cross-sectional design involved 60 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated Sedentary Behavior Questionnaire (SBQ) and Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents (PAQ-A) questionnaires, and then analyzed using Shapiro-Wilk tests, Spearman correlation, and simple linear regression using SPSS. The results showed that 98.3% of students had a sedentary lifestyle with an average SBQ score of 21.17, while 76.7% of students had a low level of physical activity with an average PAQ-A score of 1.90. There was a significant moderately negative correlation between sedentary lifestyle and physical activity level (rs = −0.497; p = 0.000), with a contribution of 19.6% (R² = 19.6%). In conclusion, the higher the sedentary lifestyle a student has, the lower their level of physical activity. These findings show the importance of efforts by schools, families, and health workers in reducing sedentary behavior and encouraging increased physical activity through educational programs, active activity habituation, and providing an environment that supports a healthy lifestyle.
