This study aims to determine the effect of step-ups training on leg muscle explosive power in female volleyball athletes of DISSPORSA Kendal aged 12–15 years. The study used an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study sample consisted of 20 athletes selected using a purposive sampling technique. The step-ups training program was carried out for four weeks with a frequency of three times per week. Measurement of leg muscle explosive power was carried out using the Jump DF instrument through a vertical jump test before and after treatment. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the Paired Sample t-Test hypothesis test with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average vertical jump ability increased from 44.05 cm in the pretest to 47.25 cm in the posttest with an increase of 3.20 cm or 7.26%. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed, while the results of the Paired Sample t-Test obtained a significance value of 0.006 (p <0.05). These findings indicate that step-up training significantly increases the explosive power of female volleyball athletes from DISSPORSA Kendal, aged 12–15 years. Therefore, step-up training can be used as an effective, safe, and easy-to-implement alternative training method to improve the vertical jump ability of adolescent athletes.
