This classroom action research aims to improve badminton short serve learning outcomes through the implementation of the Direct Instruction model combined with modified equipment and practice forms. The research subjects were 40 grade VII-B students of SMP Negeri 2 Pegantenan Pamekasan. The research was conducted in two cycles following the Kemmis & McTaggart model. Data were collected using the Poole/French Short Serve Test along with cognitive and affective observation sheets. The results showed that the combined mean score across domains increased from 54.76% in pre-cycle (poor category) to 69.83% in Cycle I (fair category), and reached 83.25% in Cycle II (good category). Concurrently, classical learning mastery rose significantly from 7.50% (3 students mastered) in pre-cycle, to 57.50% (23 students mastered) in Cycle I, and reached 87.50% (35 students mastered) in Cycle II, successfully exceeding the target indicator of ≥85%. In conclusion, implementing the Direct Instruction model with modified equipment and practice effectively enhances students' badminton short serve learning outcomes.
