Background and Aim: The rapid growth of superior local chicken farming has increased the need for sustainable and affordable feed resources. However, many farmers still have limited knowledge and skills in formulating poultry feed from locally available ingredients. This community service program aimed to improve farmers’ knowledge and practical skills in local feed formulation to support sustainable poultry production. Method: The program was conducted from September to November 2025 at Alisa Farm, Alebo Village, Konda District, South Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Twelve farmers participated in training activities consisting of lectures, group discussions, and hands-on demonstrations. Knowledge improvement was measured using pre-test and post-test assessments, while practical skills were evaluated through direct observation during feed formulation exercises. Results: Participants actively engaged in all training sessions and showed significant improvements in knowledge and practical skills. The average knowledge score increased by 83.85%, covering feed quality factors (97.22%), feed formulation techniques (87.50%), nutritional requirements of superior local chickens (73.61%), and identification of local feed ingredients (77.08%). Participants also demonstrated the ability to formulate poultry feed using locally available raw materials and apply the techniques in their farming practices. Conclusion: The training effectively enhanced farmers’ knowledge and technical skills in producing locally based poultry feed. The adoption of these practices is expected to improve the sustainability and cost-efficiency of superior local chicken farming.
