The yard utilization program is one of the government’s strategies to support food security while empowering communities based on local potential. Wonorejo Village, Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency, has considerable yard land potential; however, it has not been optimally utilized by the community. This study aims to analyze the strategy of the Food Security Agency in community empowerment through the Yard Utilization Program in Wonorejo Village. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation. The research informants consisted of community members, officials from the Food Security Agency, and village officials involved in the program implementation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data collection, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the community empowerment strategy was carried out through the identification and mapping of local community assets, active community participation in program planning, collaboration with local policymakers, and the improvement of technical skills and community knowledge through training and mentoring activities. The program had a positive impact on strengthening household food security, reducing household food expenditures, improving family nutritional quality, and strengthening community social solidarity. In addition, the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach demonstrated that the utilization of local assets was able to enhance community independence in managing local resources sustainably.
