This study aims to determine the effects of binder composition, drying temperature, and heating duration on the quality of anthracite coal briquettes. The Taguchi Design of Experiment (DOE) method was employed to optimize parameter combinations with a minimal number of experiments. The investigated variables included binder percentages (12.5% and 15%), drying temperatures (90°C and 110°C), and heating durations (90 and 120 minutes). The briquettes were tested for moisture content and compressive strength. Results show that the binder is the most influential factor, contributing 44.83% to the briquette quality, followed by temperature and the temperature–time interaction. Optimal conditions were achieved at 15% binder, 110°C, and 120 minutes, resulting in lower moisture content and higher compressive strength. The Taguchi approach proved effective in identifying dominant factors and determining the optimal parameters for improving anthracite coal briquette performance. These findings serve as a reference for developing briquettes as an alternative energy source, particularly for metallurgical applications.
