This study examines the methodological relationship between Qur’anic tadabbur and contemporary tafsir and clarifies their epistemological boundaries and contributions to understanding revelation. It employs qualitative library research. Primary sources include the Qur’an, Qawā‘id al-Tadabbur al-Amtsal li Kitābillāh, and works on tafsir methodology, while secondary sources comprise scholarly articles on tadabbur, maqāṣid al-Qur’an, Qur’anic pedagogy, and contemporary interpretation. The literature was classified into normative, conceptual-theoretical, and contemporary scholarly sources and analyzed through comparative content analysis across purpose, object, epistemic basis, analytical instruments, procedures, validity criteria, and expected outcomes. The findings indicate that tafsir provides the scholarly foundation for establishing the meaning of Qur’anic verses, whereas tadabbur develops that meaning through reflection, internalization, and contextual application. The two should not be treated as a binary opposition because tafsir may incorporate reflective dimensions, while tadabbur continues to require methodological control from tafsir. This study proposes a five-stage conceptual model: reading the verse, establishing its meaning through tafsir, reflecting on its message, internalizing its values, and applying them contextually. Its novelty lies in formulating a methodological sequence that connects interpretation with the actualization of Qur’anic values without equating tadabbur with tafsir. As a conceptual study, the proposed model requires empirical examination among readers, educators, or interpretive communities
