The independent learning curriculum is a transitional change from the previous curriculum to the new curriculum. This is implemented by the government with an intracurricular learning system, optimizing and maximizing content so that students have sufficient time to explore concepts, achieve and strengthen competencies. This independent learning curriculum is one solution due to the current learning loss or lagging behind in education in Indonesia, which has been caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in the last two years. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the independent learning curriculum in improving the quality of students. The theory used refers to Solichin Abdul Wahab's theory that parameters or benchmarks for effectiveness in a program can be measured using equations. This study uses library research methods with qualitative methods. The results of the research show that the independent learning curriculum is currently being implemented optimally and is ongoing, although its implementation requires adjustments from various parties, both from teaching staff or educators, supporting facilities and infrastructure as well as students or students themselves. However, assessment in the independent learning curriculum system has positive and negative effects, the positive impact is that there is no pressure on students and teachers to achieve passing grades according to the content that has been determined, while the negative impact makes students reluctant to compete. The independent learning curriculum can also improve the quality and achievement of student learning as seen from the increased academic scores compared to the previous year.
