During the first year of university, new students may experience a challenging transition period, particularly nursing students who are required to master practical skills involving the direct use of medical equipment and consumable medical supplies. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The population consisted of 121 students from the 2025 cohort, with a sample of 30 students selected using purposive random sampling. The psycho-education intervention was conducted over 7 sessions from April 8 to April 27, 2026, with session lasting for 60 minutes. The instrument used was a Consumable Medical Supplies Knowledge Questionnaire to assess students’ knowledge, with a Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient of 0.748. The results of the paired-samples t-test showed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, with a mean difference in knowledge scores of −7.000 and a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The study concludes that the psycho-education method has a significant effect on improving students’ knowledge of the management of consumable medical supplies in the Diploma III Nursing Study Program, Universitas Abulyatama. Therefore, students are encouraged to improve their knowledge of the proper and consistent management of consumable medical supplies in nursing practice.
