Measles is one of the diseases preventable through immunisation (PD3I) and is highly contagious, with the potential to cause outbreaks. In Samarinda City, 322 suspected measles cases were recorded, while eight suspected cases were identified in the Segiri Community Health Centre catchment area. This community outreach activity was conducted in May 2026 at the Segiri Community Health Centre and Posyandu within its catchment area, targeting parents of infants and toddlers as well as health centre visitors. Activities included face-to-face health education at Posyandu using posters covering measles definition, signs and symptoms, transmission, prevention, and the importance of immunisation, as well as screening an animated video in the health centre waiting room that could be accessed through a QR code on the poster. During the activity, community members showed engagement through attention to the material, discussions, and questions about measles signs, symptoms, and prevention. Posters and QR codes also provided an easy and independent way to access the educational information through mobile phones. The activity demonstrated that combining direct education with visual and audiovisual media can support the delivery of health information as part of measles prevention efforts in the Segiri Community Health Centre catchment area.
