Legal Counseling on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for high school students at SMAN 2 Sigi was carried out on April 22, 2026, as an implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi). This program focused on school students given Indonesia's high level of disaster vulnerability, while school-aged groups are particularly vulnerable to impacts, thus requiring basic knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their surrounding environment. The counseling encompassed an introduction to various types, causes, and impacts of disasters, the legal framework of disaster management, and practical DRR applications in daily life to support the realization of a safer, more resilient, and disaster-prepared school environment. Program evaluation was conducted through interactive Q&A sessions assessing participant enthusiasm, engagement, and understanding. Evaluation results demonstrated active participation and high enthusiasm from students in posing questions to the outreach team, driven by the relevance of the material to their lived experiences as survivors of the natural disaster that struck Sigi Regency on September 28, 2018. This activity is expected to sustainably reinforce a culture of disaster preparedness among school-aged children.
