Irrigation plays an important role in supporting the agricultural sector by providing water for paddy fields, so that the sustainability of irrigation network functions strongly depends on the operation and maintenance of water structures such as weirs, canals, and water gates. This internship activity aimed to examine the operation system and to study the maintenance activities of water structures in the Lomaya-Alale Irrigation Area, Bone Bolango Regency, which is under the authority of the Sulawesi II River Basin Office. The methods used included direct field observation, participation in operation and maintenance activities, documentation, and a literature review of relevant regulations and technical guidelines. The results show that the operation of water structures was carried out by regulating gate openings and rotating water distribution, while maintenance included the removal of debris and sediment, minor repairs, and periodic lubrication of gate screws. Problems found in the field included canal sedimentation, wild vegetation growth, and low public awareness of canal cleanliness, which were addressed through routine cleaning and outreach to farmers. Consistent operation and maintenance activities proved essential to sustaining the function of the Lomaya-Alale irrigation network in supporting agricultural productivity in the region.
