<![CDATA[Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from impaired insulin secretion or action. This condition is progressive and may lead to severe complications if not properly managed. Effective diabetes management relies heavily on self-care practices, including education, dietary regulation, physical activity, glucose monitoring, and medication adherence. Optimal self-care plays an essential role in maintaining glycemic stability and preventing complications. Methods: This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. A purposive sampling technique was used, involving 37 respondents. Data were collected using a self-care questionnaire and analyzed with the paired t-test. Results: The findings showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores, indicating that the educational video effectively improved patients' self-care behavior. The p-value (0.001) was less than 0.05, leading to the rejection of Hâ‚€. Conclusion: Patient experience-based educational videos have a significant effect on improving self-care behavior among adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Islamic Hospital Jakarta Cempaka Putih.]]>
