Maluku's marine potential is a source of plentiful food for coastal populations. The quantity of algaeprovides sustenance for coastal populations, such as meti veggies, which are consumed by the people ofLiliboi Village in Maluku. Information about the types of algae and the composition of bioactive compoundsfrom meti veggies is not yet known. This study aims to identify the morphology and examine thephytochemical content of bioactive compounds in meti vegetables from the coastal waters of Liliboi Village. The research was carried out through several stages, namely morphological observations, extraction ofbioactive compounds by the maceration method using methanol as a solvent, and phytochemical testing ofbioactive compounds in meti vegetables from the coastal waters of Liliboi Village. The results showed thatthe morphology of this meti vegetable had a cell shape similar to that of algae from the division Chlorophyta, genus Ulothrix. Ulothrix is a filamentous algae. Meti vegetables had protein and lipid contents of 31,7820,057 mg/L and 55,045 0,046%, respectively. Phytochemical analysis showed that the methanol extractincludes bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, saponins, and phenols. The flavonoidcontent of methanol extract is relatively high, at 506,140±0,574 mg/L.
