This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos on students’ learning outcomes in chemical bonding material at SMA Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of class XI-1 as the experimental class and class XI-2 as the control class. Data were collected using learning outcome tests administered as a pretest and a posttest. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, an independent-samples t-test, and the N-Gain test. The analysis showed that the significance value of the t-test was 0.000 < 0.05; therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. The average N-Gain score of the experimental class was 64.79%, while that of the control class was 15.98%. Thus, the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by animated videos was more effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in chemical bonding material than conventional learning.
