This study aims to determine the effectiveness of technology-based interactive video media integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving students’ conceptual understanding of the properties and changes of matter at SMK Swasta Teladan Pematangsiantar. This study employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of class X-RPL1 as the control group and class X-RPL2 as the experimental group. Data were collected using conceptual understanding tests administered as pretests and posttests. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, an independent-samples t-test, and the N-Gain test. The analysis results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.001), indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. The average N-Gain score of the experimental group was 82.76%, while that of the control group was 36.98%. Therefore, the use of technology-based interactive video media integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model was more effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding of the properties and changes of matter than conventional learning.
