The study aims to (1) analyze the representation of the value of unity based on the third principle of Pancasila in the procession of the Sekaten tradition and (2) identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and was conducted at the Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving eleven informants comprising palace relatives (sentono dalem), palace servants (abdi dalem), religious leaders, government representatives, traders, and visitors. Data were analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that, first, the value of unity in the Sekaten tradition is represented through cultural symbols, rituals, and social interactions involving various segments of society regardless of their backgrounds. This value is reflected in togetherness, tolerance, mutual cooperation, and collective participation throughout the various stages of the procession. Second, the supporting factors for the representation of the value of unity include the active role of the Palace, government support, and community participation. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include the influence of globalization, limited understanding of cultural values among the younger generation, and the dominance of entertainment aspects in the implementation of Sekaten. The study concludes that the Sekaten tradition functions not only as a cultural ritual but also as a means of internalizing the value of unity in accordance with the third principle of Pancasila, as well as a source of culturally based learning for Pancasila and Civic Education.
