Amid ongoing concerns that music may negatively affect adolescent religiosity, this study examines whether and how Perunggu’s song “33x” may contribute to young people’s religious development and spiritual lives. It focuses on adolescents’ interpretations of the song’s religious meanings and its perceived effects on faith and religious practice. Using a descriptive qualitative design, the study collected interview responses through Google Forms from 18 adolescents. The findings indicate that participants associated the song with spirituality, self-reflection, and increased motivation to worship. Although most respondents did not listen to the song frequently, they consistently recognized religious meanings and life values conveyed in its lyrics. They interpreted it as a reminder of God, a source of inner peace, and encouragement in daily life. The responses suggest that the song’s significance may arise less from repeated listening than from the meaning listeners derive from its message. The study thus foregrounds the meanings adolescents themselves assign to musical content. Accordingly, it argues that music does not inherently weaken adolescent religiosity; when lyrics communicate positive religious values, music can encourage reflection, support motivation to worship, and serve as a medium for religious outreach and spiritual strengthening.
