Abstract

Anggun Bekery, a small and medium-sized enterprise(SME), which produces sweet bread and donuts, still has an inefficient layout, resulting in overlapping flows, back- and-forth movements, long material transfer distances, and longer production times. This study aims to redesign theproduction facility using the Systematic Layout Planning(SLP) and BLOCPLAN methods to improve material flowefficiency at Anggun Bakery. This research was conducted through observation, interviews, and measurements of the production area. Theanalysis included identifying the existing layout, developingan Operation Process Chart (OPC), calculating movementdistances using the rectilinear method, constructing anActivity Relationship Chart (ARC), an Activity relationshipDiagram, and designing proposed layout using BLOCPLANsoftware. The evaluation was conducted by comparingmaterial movement distances and production lead timesbefore and after the layout improvement. The study found that the proposed layout was able toeliminate crossing flow and backtracking, as well as reducematerial movement distance from 66 meters to 37 meters(43,94), and production lead time from 72,25 minutes to56,25 minutes per product (22,42). These results indicatethat the SLP and BLOCPLAN methods are effective inincreasing the efficiency of the Anggun Bakery MSMEproduction facility layout.
