Conductor joints in 20 kV distribution networks are critical points that may develop thermal anomalies when contact quality deteriorates. This study aims to identify problematic joints by integrating Thermovision measurements and load-current data and to establish their maintenance priorities. Field observations were conducted on three feeders within PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Pasuruan, namely Pesanggrahan, Beji, and Suwayuwo, and the resulting measurements were analyzed descriptively using quantitative data. Measurements were conducted in morning, midday, and evening periods at 10-minute intervals, yielding 21 observations for each feeder. The analyzed parameters included hotspot temperature, conductor temperature, ambient temperature, temperature difference (ΔT), load current, and power loss. Thermal severity was grouped using the Class 0–3 EPRI/FLIR criteria applied in the research design, while PLN Maintenance Guideline No. 0520-2.K/DIR/2014 was used as a complementary maintenance reference. Maximum hotspot temperatures reached 78.1°C at Pesanggrahan, 95.6°C at Beji, and 130.0°C at Suwayuwo, with maximum ΔT values of 43.6°C, 51.8°C, and 75.7°C, respectively. Recalculation from the raw measurements produced mean load currents of 238.1 A, 192.7 A, and 156.0 A. Suwayuwo exhibited the most severe thermal anomaly despite carrying the lowest current, indicating that joint-contact condition also contributes to the development of thermal anomalies. Maximum recorded power losses were 87.52 W, 94.44 W, and 80.19 W. Combining thermal and electrical indicators enables identification of joint condition severity and provides a basis for selecting scheduled maintenance or immediate corrective action in 20 kV distribution networks.
