This study aims to critically examine the crisis of values and educational purposes in contemporary education while rediscovering the essence of education as a process of humanization. The analysis focuses on three main aspects: (1) the philosophical essence of education emphasizing the formation of dignified, moral, and conscious human beings; (2) the value crisis reflected in moral degradation, hedonism, and academic orientation due to globalization and digital influence; and (3) the crisis of educational purposes marked by the shift from humanistic ideals toward economic and market-oriented paradigms. This research employs a library study with a descriptive-qualitative approach by reviewing scholarly sources published between 2021–2025. The findings reveal that modern education faces dehumanization, where the pursuit of efficiency, competition, and profitability has replaced humanistic values. Consequently, education loses its spiritual and moral foundation, focusing merely on measurable outputs instead of transformative outcomes. Therefore, a reorientation of educational philosophy and practice is required restoring moral, human, and spiritual values as the core of education to foster learners who are knowledgeable, ethical, and socially conscious
