There is an increasing need for the development of lightweight and eco-friendly composite materials for various engineering applications. Honeycomb structures possess a high strength-to-weight ratio, while coconut coir fiber is an abundant natural material with potential for use as a composite reinforcement (Adeniyi et al., 2019). This study aims to analyze the effect of varying cell heights on the impact strength of coconut coir fiber-based honeycomb composites. An experimental method was employed, involving the fabrication of honeycomb composite specimens with various cell heights. Testing was conducted using the Charpy impact test method to determine the absorbed energy and impact strength values. The test data were then analyzed to examine the relationship between cell height and impact resistance. The results indicate that variations in cell height influence the impact strength of the composites; differences in cell height alter the material's capacity to absorb impact energy. Thus, cell height is a critical parameter in the design of coconut coir fiber-based honeycomb composites to achieve optimal impact resistance.
