Academic stress is one of the most common challenges experienced by university students, particularly final-year midwifery students who face substantial academic demands, clinical practice, and undergraduate thesis completion. Peer support serves as a protective factor that may help students cope with academic pressures. This study aims to examine the relationship between peer support and academic stress among final-year midwifery students at Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta. This study employed a quantitative correlational research design. A total of 107 respondents were recruited using a total sampling technique based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using the Peer Support Scale and the Academic Stress Scale and were analyzed using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test and Pearson correlation analysis. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between peer support and academic stress (r = −0.329; p = 0.001), indicating that higher levels of peer support were associated with lower levels of academic stress among students. It can be concluded that peer support plays an important role in helping final-year midwifery students manage academic stress.
