Purpose – The article aims to develop a conceptual framework for mapping and designing halal entrepreneurship bricolage (HEB). Implementing bricolage can be beneficial, offering new strategies for Muslim entrepreneurs to achieve halal business processes, particularly those with resource constraints. Methodology – The research began with a bibliometric analysis of scientific papers in the Scopus database from 2005 to September 2026, identifying 161 articles and we selected 76 articles for the CLR based on topic relevance. Those articles present a novel framework for establishing HEB.Findings – The bibliometric analysis indicates a significant increase in research interest in the theme of bricolage from 2017 to 2025. The results also explain the importance of HEB in managing resource constraints without abandoning halal and thayyib values. A tension exists between resource improvisation and halal-thayyib compliance, as EB does not automatically guarantee a fully halal business process.Implications – This framework can be used to build a business environment and design business development based on bricolage principles to help ensure the halal product process in the community. Originality – To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study proposes a definition and conceptual framework for HEB, addressing the tension that bricolage emphasizes improvisation and making do with what is at hand, whereas halal business imposes non-negotiable Sharia constraints.
