Kesalahan Sintaksis Pada Skripsi Mahasiswa IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to measure the language skills of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon students in thesis writing by analyzing the misuse of syntactic constructs in the form of phrases and sentences based on the cause of the occurrence and how to improve it. This study uses descriptive qualitative-quantitative methods. In the preparatory stage, data collection of 18 theses of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon students was graduated in 2018 from three faculties, namely nine majors. Furthermore, all sentences containing syntax errors are recorded in the data card and categorized according to the criteria for the form of syntactic errors. Data that has been classified is then analyzed and described as errors and corrections. Comparison of misuse of phrase structure and nearly 3: 1 sentence. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur kemampuan berbahasa mahasiswa IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon pada penulisan skripsi dengan menganalisis kesalahan penggunaan konstruksi sintaksis yang berupa frasa dan kalimat berdasarkan penyebab terjadinya dan bagaimana alternatif pembenahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif-kuantitatif. Pada tahap persiapan, dilakukan pengumpulan data 18 skripsi mahasiswa IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon kelulusan tahun 2018 dari tiga fakultas, yaitu sembilan jurusan. Selanjutnya semua kalimat yang mengandung kesalahan sintaksis dicatat dalam kartu data dan dikategorikan menurut kriteria bentuk kesalahan sintaksis. Data yang sudah diklasifikasikan kemudian dianalisis dan dideskripsikan kesalahan dan pembetulannya. Perbandingan kesalahan penggunaan struktur frasa dan akalimat hampir mencapai 3:1.
