<![CDATA[The problem of bid’ah, though a classic problem, remains a polemic. The division of bid’ah into sayyi'ah and hasanah seems to have no intersection between the supporters and the repellents. The problem can be observed through a variety of perspectives, one of which is the sociology perspective with the assumption that the bid'ah's prohibition is related to the social condition of the society when the hadith is revealed. This is evidenced by the different receptions of some shahabah after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, who decided to do some things previously never done by the Prophet Muhammad during his lifetime. This paper will attempt to disclose it. Where the social conditions of society at the time of prophethood have differences with the conditions after the death of the Prophet Muhammad, so some shahabah dare to decide a case that had never been done by the Prophet Muhammad. Persoalan bid’ah, meskipun merupakan masalah yang klasik, namun hingga kini tetap menyisakan polemik. Pembagian bid’ah kepada sayyi’ah dan hasanah seakan belum memiliki titik temu antara pendukung dan penolaknya. Persoalan tersebut sejatinya dapat diteropong melalui beragam perspektif, salah satunya adalah perspektif sosiologi dengan asumsi bahwa keputusan larangan bid’ah berkaitan dengan kondisi sosial masyarakat pada saat hadis tersebut diturunkan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perbedaan resepsi dari beberapa sahabat sepeninggal Nabi Muhammad, yang memutuskan untuk melakukan beberapa perkara yang sebelumnya tidak pernah dilakukan oleh Nabi Muhammad semasa hidupnya. Tulisan ini akan berupaya mengungkap hal tersebut. Di mana kondisi sosial masyarakat pada masa kenabian memiliki perbedaan dengan kondisi setelah wafatnya Nabi Muhammad, sehingga beberapa orang sahabat berani memutuskan sebuah perkara yang sebelumnya tidak pernah dilakukan oleh Nabi Muhammad.]]>
