Abstract

Early childhood is known as the golden age, a crucial period in child development characterized by rapid brain cell growth and cognitive abilities. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of storytelling in the formation of critical thinking patterns in children aged 5-6 years at Al Ihsan Kindergarten and to determine indicators of critical thinking patterns that can be observed in children after participating in storytelling activities. While the research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of the study indicate that storytelling can stimulate imagination, curiosity, and children's ability to ask questions, conclude, and provide opinions on the story told. Some indicators of critical thinking that emerged include the ability to ask questions, answer analytical questions, and express opinions based on the storyline. Thus, storytelling has proven effective as a strategy to stimulate the development of critical thinking in early childhood.

Abstract

Maladministration in the management of public services remains a significant challenge faced by local governments in Indonesia. Maladministrative practices not only reduce the quality of public services but also erode public trust in government institutions and weaken public sector integrity. This study aims to analyse the forms of maladministration in local government public services and to examine the role of the Ombudsman in conducting interventions and supervision to improve governance. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, focusing on the handling of public complaints related to public services in a selected local government. Data were collected through document analysis and review of Ombudsman reports. The findings indicate that maladministration manifests in various forms, including undue delay, procedural deviation, failure to provide services, and abuse of authority. The Ombudsman plays a crucial role in improving public services through examination processes, recommendations, and compliance monitoring. However, the effectiveness of the Ombudsman’s role faces several challenges, particularly the low level of compliance by local governments with the issued recommendations.

Abstract

This research examines the urgency and offers a conceptual reconstruction of the regulatory protection of suspects' privacy rights in the investigation of electronic transaction-based narcotics crimes. Currently, there is a conflict of norm between the extensive interception authority of investigators under Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and the privacy rights guaranteed by Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law). Through a normative legal research method utilizing statute and conceptual approaches, this study finds that current positive law, including the new Criminal Procedure Code (Law Number 20 of 2025), has not rigidly regulated the depth limits of digital data extraction. This legal vacuum legitimizes random fault-finding practices that potentially violate the principle of due process of law. Therefore, based on the Theory of Dignified Justice, this research recommends the need for a reconstruction of digital criminal procedural law. This reconstruction is realized through the integration of the data minimization principle, the implementation of specific court-issued digital extraction permit mechanisms, and the obligation to maintain system audit trails at every stage of the investigation. This aims to ensure a proportional balance between the effectiveness of combating narcotics crimes and the protection of human rights.

Abstract

Competition among café businesses in Malang City has intensified alongside a growing student population exceeding 266,000 people. In this context, marketing communication has become a critical instrument for business sustainability. This study focuses on the marketing communication practices of Nakoa Café and Nakoa Social Space, addressing three main research questions: what marketing communication programs are being implemented, what strategy is chosen to increase the number of customers, and whether the strategy leans toward a pull strategy, push strategy, or pass strategy. A qualitative approach with a descriptive and interpretive case study method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (FGD) involving six regular customers and two new consumers, and observation of the café's official social media content. Analysis was conducted using marketing communication strategy theory, which categorizes strategic choices into pull, push, and pass strategies. The findings reveal that Nakoa's marketing communication programs remain severely limited: Instagram-based advertising is active but suboptimal, sales promotion and publicity are virtually nonexistent, while direct marketing and personal selling have not been established at all. The current strategy leans toward a minimalist pull strategy with no meaningful push strategy component. Therefore, management is strongly advised to transition toward a pass strategy by integrating both approaches in a planned and simultaneous manner to achieve more significant market expansion.
