Abstract

Abstrak             Kubis merupakan salah satu sayuran yang berperan penting bagi kesehatan manusia, karena banyak mengandung mineral dan vitamin.  Saat ini tuntutan masyarakat akan produk tanaman sayur yang berkualitas, ekonomis serta aman dikonsumsi semakin tinggi. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Desa Rurukan, Kota Tomohon ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan mortalitas larva Plutella xylostella yang disemprot dengan suspensi cendawan Metarhizium sp. isolat lokal dengan     insektisida kimia yang umumnya digunakan oleh petani kubis di Kota Tomohon. Penelitian dilakukan dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 3 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan cendawan Metarhizium sp. isolate lokal dapat menyebabkan mortalitas larva P. xylostella sebesar 68,35%, sedangkan mortalitas pada aplikasi insektisida kimia ialah 82,35% dan pada kontrol ialah 41,30%.Kata kunci: efektifitas,  Metarhizium sp., kubis,  Plutella xylostella Abstract Cabbage is one of the important vegetables for human health, because it contains many minerals and vitamins.  The demand of qualified, economical and secured vegetables increases at the moment. The objective of this study was to compare the application effect of the suspension of local isolate Metarhizium sp. and the application of chemical insecticides that were commonly used by cabbage farmers in Tomohon city on the mortality of larvae P. xylostella. The Completely Randomized Design experiment consisted of 3 treatments and 5 replications. The application of Metarhizium sp. resulted in the mortality of larvae P. xylostella, i.e. 68.35%, whereas the application of chemical insecticides resulted in the mortality of 82.35% and the mortality in control condition was 41.30%.Keywords: cabbage, effect of Metarhizium sp.,  Plutella xylostella

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menentukan persentase mortalitas imago Sitophilus oryzae pada tiga jenis beras. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Tiga macam beras yang digunakan adalah Suluttan Unsrat 2, ketan putih, dan beras merah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase mortalitas imago S. oryzae pada Beras Suluttan 24,68%, Beras Ketan 6,38% dan Beras Merah 2,09%.Kata kunci: beras, mortalitas, Sitophilus oryzae  Abstract This research was conducted to determine the mortality percentage of adult Sitophilus oryzae on three types of rice. The Completely Randomized Design experiment consisted of 3 treatments and 6 replication. Three types of rice, i.e. Suluttan Unsrat 2, white glutinous, and brown rice were used in this experiment. The results showed that the mortality percentage of adult S. oryzae in Suluttan Unsrat, white glutinous, and brown rice were 24.68, 6.38 and 2.09%, respectively. Keywords: mortality, rice, S. oryzae

Abstract

Abstrak             Penelitian tentang keanekaragaman mangrove berdasarkan fungsi dan manfaat mangrove di Pulau Siau telah dilakukan untuk menganalisis keanekaragaman jenis vegetasi mangrove di Pantai Kapeta dan Pantai Tanaki, Kecamatan Siau Barat Selatan, Kabupaten Sitaro, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Metode garis berpetak berselang digunakan untuk memperoleh kekayaan dan kelimpahan jenis vegetasi. Garis transek diletakkan secara vertikal dari laut ke daratan sebanyak 3 jalur di tiap stasiun dengan jarak antar jalur sekitar 300 m. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Indeks keanekaragaman jenis diketahui berdasarkan Indeks Shannon - Wienner (H’). Pantai Kapeta dan Tanaki memiliki kekayaan jenis mangrove sebanyak 10 jenis dari 9 suku dan kelimpahan jenis sebesar 657 individu. Jenis mangrove yang ditemukan di Kecamatan Siau Barat Selatan yaitu Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Sonneratia alba, Rhizophora apiculata, Nypa fruticans, Croton oblongus, Ficus,  Heritiera littoralis, Intsia bijuga, Ixora talaudensis dan Terminalia catappa. Keanekaragaman jenis mangrove di wilayah penelitian Kecamatan Siau Barat Selatan tergolong rendah dengan indeks H’ sebesar 0,775 yang lebih rendah dari 1. Keanekaragaman mangrove di Pantai Kapeta dan Tanaki juga rendah dengan indeks berturut-turut yaitu 0,654 dan 0,880.Kata Kunci: keanekaragaman mangrove, Pantai Kapeta, Pantai Tanaki, Pulau Siau. Abstract The study on the diversity of mangrove on Siau Island based on the its functions and benefits was conducted to analyze the diversity of mangrove vegetation in Kapeta and Tanaki Beach, District of South West Siau, Sitaro Regency, North Sulawesi. The quadrate line transect method was used to obtain data of species richness and abundance. Three line transects were installed vertically from sea margin to land at each station.  Line spaces were 300 m. Data were analyzed descriptively. Biodiversity index of mangrove was based on  Shannon - Wienner index (H ').  Kapeta Beach and Tanaki Beach had species richness and abundance respectively i.e. 10 species of 9 familes and 657 individu. The mangrove  found in South West Siau District i.e. Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Sonneratia alba, Rhizophora apiculata, Nypa fruticans, Croton oblongus, Ficus, Heritiera littoralis, Intsia bijuga, Ixora talaudensis and Terminalia catappa. Mangrove diversity in the study area was low (H ' index = 0.775). The diversity of mangrove in Kapeta Beach and Tanaki Beach were also low, i.e.  0.654 and 0.880 respectively.Keywords: mangrove diversity, Kapeta Beach, Tanaki Beach, Siau Island.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian yang dilaksanakan di  desa Wailan Kecamatan Tomohon Selatan Kota Tomohon bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi gejala serangan, jenis-jenis dan populasi serangga hama dan pada beberapa varietas tomat yang ditanam dengan dan tanpa mulsa plastik hitam perak serta pola tanaman tunggal dan ganda. Percobaan faktorial dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari 3 faktor perlakuan, yaitu 1) varietas tomat (Warani/V1, Permata/V2, Sakura/ V3, Tirana/V4, Fortuna/V5); 2) jenis mulsa (tanpa mulsa/MO, mulsa plastik hitam perak/M1); 3) pola tanam (pola tanam tunggal/PTT dan pola tanam ganda/PTG). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan serangga hama yang ditemukan pada kombinasi perlakuan varietas, dengan atau tanpa mulsa plastik perak hitam, dan pola tanam tunggal dan ganda adalah Nesidiocoris tenuis, Liriomyza sativae, Acrida turita L., Aphis sp., Bemisia tabaci, Helicoverpa armigera, dan Nezara viridula L. Rataan populasi N. tenuis yang tertinggi terdapat pada kombinasi perlakuan V3M0PTG (5,63 ekor/tanaman) dan yang  terendah pada kombinasi  V3M1PTT (0,78 ekor/tanaman). Rataan populasi L. sativae yang tertinggi pada kombinasi perlakuan V5M1PTG (2,35 ekor/tanaman) dan yang terendah pada V3M1PTT (0,54 ekor/tanaman).Kata kunci: mulsa, pola tanam, serangga hama, tomat Abstract The study that was conducted in the village Wailan South Tomohon, Tomohon sub district aimed to evaluate the symptoms of the attack, the kind and the population of insect pests in several tomato varieties grown with and without silver black plastic mulch, as well as single and double cropping pattern.  The factorial randomized block design consisted of 3 treatment factors, i.e. 1) tomato varieties (Warani/V1, Gem/V2, Sakura/V3, Tirana/V4, Fortuna/V5); 2) the mulch type (without mulch/MO, silver black plastic mulch/M1); 3) planting pattern (single cropping pattern/PTT, double cropping pattern/PTG). The results showed that pests type found in the treatment combination of varieties, with or without the  silver black plastic mulch, and single and double cropping pattern  were Nesidiocoris tenuis, Liriomyza sativae, Acrida turita L.,  Aphis sp., Bemisia tabaci, Helicoverpa armigera, and Nezara viridula L. The highest population of N. tenuis insect pest was observed in the V3M0PTG treatment (5.63 insects / plant) and the lowest was in the V3M1PTT treatment (0.78 insects / plant). The highest population of L. sativae was obderved ini the V5M1PTG treatment (2.35 insects / plant) and the lowest was inn the V3M1PTT (0.54 insects / plant).Kata kunci: cropping pattern, insect pest, mulch, tomato

Abstract

Abstrak  Penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk  menentukan  konsentrasi  substitusi air kelapa dan pupuk   daun  majemuk  yang tepat    pada   media  MS   terhadap   pertumbuhan   anggrek Dendrobium secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 7 perlakuan dan 10 kali ulangan.  Variabel yang diamati adalah persentase eksplan yang bertunas, jumlah tunas, jumlah daun, tinggi tanaman dan jumlah akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan substitusi media MS 50 %, air kelapa 30 % dan pupuk daun majemuk (Growmore®) 1,5 g/L menghasilkan rata-rata persentase eksplan yang bertunas sebesar 6,78 %; jumlah tunas sebesar 1,26 dan tinggi tanaman sebesar 1,20 cm.Kata kunci: air kelapa, in vitro, media MS, pupuk daun majemuk  Abstract             This research was aimed to determine the proper concentration of substitution of coconut water and compound leaf fertilizer in Murashige dan Skoog (MS) medium on the in vitro growth of Dendrobium orchids. The completely randomized design experiment consisted of 7 treatments and 10 replicates. The measured parameters were the percentage of sprouted explants, number of shoots, number of leaves, plant height and number of roots. The result showed that the substitution of 50% media MS, 30% coconut water and 1.5 g/L leaf fertilizer (Growmore®) resulted the growth of shoot explant as much as 6.78% the shoot number of 1.26 and 1.20 cm plant height .Keywords: coconut water, compound leaf fertilizer, in vitro, MS medium
