This research discusses about an analysis of the directive speech acts used in english speaking class at the third semester of english speaking class of english study program of IAIN STS Jambi. The aims of this research are to describe the types of directive speech acts and politeness strategies that found in English speaking class. This research used descriptive qualitative method. This method used to describe clearly about the types and politeness strategies of directive speech acts based on the data in English speaking class. The result showed that in English speaking class that there are some types and politeness strategies of directive speech acts, such as: requestives, questions, requirements, prohibitives, permissives, and advisores as types, as well as on-record indirect strategies (prediction statement, strong obligation statement, possibility statement, weaker obligation statement, volitional statement), direct strategies (imperative, performative), and nonsentential strategies as politeness strategies. The achievement of this research are hoped can be additional knowledge about linguistics study, especially in directive speech acts and can be developed for future researches. Key words: directive speech acts, types, politeness strategies.

Membangun budaya sekolah efektif melalui kepemimpinan visioner hilal mahmud

The study aim at revealing the model the effective school culture through visionary leadership at SMAN 2 Palopo. This is a qualitative – fenomenolgy field research, while data were collected by employing interview, observation, and study documentation, as well as triangulation technique. The results show that he mechanisms conducted in implementing vision are analizing strategic circles, arranging program in strategic planning, and operasional planning. The strategies conducted in developing the culture of effective school includes: developing commitment of effective culture, giving deepest understanding about vision, missions, and objectives of school, establishing distinct course of policy, and emphasizing the importance of creativity and innovation.

Students’ anxieties in speaking class Mahyuzar Rahman

This qualitative research discussed the anxieties the students of semester 3, English Department, IAIN STS Jambi faced during the speaking class. The result of the research indicated that the causes of the students’ anxieties were the lack of grammar mastery, pronunciation problem, lack of vocabulary, unconfident feeling, fear of making mistakes and feared of being laughed by other students. But the dominant factors found were the lack of grammar, the lack of good pronunciation, and lack of vocabulary mastery. The lecturer had taken part to overcome these problems by giving them motivation not to give up easily, how to cope with vocabulary problems, and how to prepare well before coming into the class.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan dimensi teologi dalalm praktek pendidikan pada Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Nuruil Ilmi seraya menurunkan makna dari penerapan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan teknik non partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumen dalam pengumpulan data. Sedangkan teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan tranferability dan conformability. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ide teologi Islam mengilhami kerangka kerangka kurikulum, desain pembelajaran (proses belajar mengajar), pengembangan kelembagaan, dan pengembangan profesionalisme guru. Kata Kunci: Teologi, Pendidikan, Sekolah Islam Terpadu Abstrak [Theology Based Education; An Investigation at Integrated Islamic Elementary School]. The objective of this research was both to investigate the dimension of education theology applied by an integrated Islamic elementary school namely SDIT Nurul Ilmi Jambi and to reveal the meaning of those application. This was a qualitative research in which the researcher used non-participant observation, in–depth interview, and documentation to gather the data. The data was analyzed by a flow model technique. To check the validity, the researcher employed credibility /transferability and conformability. The finding showed that the notion on Islamic theology was implied in the curriculum frameworks, instructional designs (teaching and learning process), institutional development, and teachers’ professional development. Pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis macromedia flash professional 8 Boby Syefrinando

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis pada Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8, khususnya dalam pembelararan fisika. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) yang mencakup langkah utama dalam penerapannya yaitu pendahuluan, perancangan media, danevaluasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada tujuh langkah dalam merancang media pembelajaran yaitu; analisis kebutuhan dan karakter siswa, perumusan tujuan pembelajaran, validasi dan revisi berdasarkan penilaian ahli, uji coba, dan revisi akhir. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8 efektif digunakan sebagai media dalam pengajaran fisika, khususnya pada pokok bahasan Hukum Newton. The purpose of the study was to develop teaching media based on Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8, particuraly for physics course. This Study employed research and development (R&D) design, including three major steps, there are; preliminary, designing media, and evaluating. The study showed that there are sevent steps in designing teaching media, including; need analysis and students character, formulating learning objectives, validating and revising based on expert judgment, trials, and revision. The result of the study also indicated that Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8 based teaching media was effective to used in teaching Newton’s Law subject in physics course Keywords: Teaching media, Macromedia Flash Proffesional 8, physics course

Peningkatan kemampuan self regulated learning peserta diklat jarak jauh (DJJ) guru matematika Yusmarni Yusmarni

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan self-regulated learning (SRL) guru matematika melalui Diklat Jarak Jauh (DJJ) matematika Madrasah Tsanawiyah. Untuk menggambarkan bagaimana self regulated learning guru, data lapangan pada subyek yang diteliti dan dideskripsikan diperoleh dengan observasi, wawancara atau angket. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pelaksanaan Diklat Jarak Jauh Matematika dapat meningkatkan self-regulated learning peserta diklat matematika, dari 47,68 menjadi 95.3 dan perbedaan rata-rata tersebut meningkat secara signifikan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Terdapat peningkatan yang signifikant self-regulated learning guru matematika. sebagai peserta diklat antara sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti proses pendidikan dan pelatihan Kata Kunci : Diklat jarak jauh, self-regulated learning, guru matematika Abstrak [Title: The Improvement of Self-Regulated Learning Ability of Mathematic Teachers as Long-Distanced Training Participants]. This research is aimed at finding out the improvement of self-regulated learning (SRL) ability of mathematic teachers who became participants of long-distanced training at Padang Training Bureau. The researcher employed observation, interview, and questionnaire to gather the data. The analysis revealed that participants’ SRL increased from a score 47,68 to 95,30. The distance of score showed that there was a significant increase at 0,000 < 0,05 which means there was significant improvement of SRL after becoming long-distanced training participants. Key words: long-distanced training, self-regulated learning, mathematic teachers.

Kurikulum terpadu: model pembinaan karakter pada sekolah islam fullday Zulfahmi Aziz; Kasful Anwar

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan model kurikulum terpadu pada sekolah Islam terpadu dalam konteks pembinaan karakter siswa, dengan setting sosial pada Sekolah Menengah Pertama Islam Terpadu Al Azhar Jambi. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif menunjukkan bahwa model kurikulum Sekolah memadukan antara Kurikulum Diknas (K-13) dengan sejumlah program unggulan Sekolah (seperti; tahfidzul qur’an, bahasa arab, praktek ibadah, kunjungan edukatif), yang didukung dengan sistem pembelajaran yang memadukan pendekatan kontekstual, acive learning, dengan pendekatan pembiasaan dan keteladanan. Model ini lebih dekat pada model jaring laba-laba yang menggunakan pendekatan tematik, baru kemudian dikembangkan sub-sub tema dengan memperhatikan kaitannya dengan bidang-bidang studi terkait. Model ini mendukung pembentukan karakter siswa berakhlak mulia, cerdas, kreatif, santun, dan berbudi luhur. Kata kunci: kurikulum terpadu, sekolah Islam fullday, pembangunan karakter Abstract [Integrated Curriculum: A Model of Students’ Character Building at Islamic Fullday School]. The prupose of the study is to describe the model of integrated curriculum implemented in Integrated Islamic Fullday Schools in the context of the students’ character building, where the social setting was at Islamic Junior High School Al Azhar Jambi. By employing a qualitative approach, the study revealed that the School curriculum combines the National Curriculum (K-13) with a number of distingtive Schools program (such as Quran recitation, arabic language, religious practices, educational visits), supported by a learning system that combines a contextual approach, acive learning, habituation, as well as exemplary approaches. This model is closer to the model of webbed that uses a thematic approach, then developed sub-themes with regard relation to the related fields of study This model support the program of students’character building to have a high moral standard, intelligent, creative, polite, and virtuous.
