Abstract

The use of smartphone in response to incoming message and incoming call while driving may cause the loss of concentration thus increasing the risk of accidents when driving. Many researches had been conducted are using speech recognition to help the driver responds to incoming message and incoming call. However, the response system which using speech recognition can be easily affected by noise disturbance from the road or the vehicle noise so it will be very difficult to receive voice response from the user. So in this research developed a method to receive a response from the user using a proximity sensor to improve accuracy. In this research also used the Android Text to Speech (TTS) system to read aloud incoming message notifications and incoming call for this method to work well in the offline condition. The system is designed to allow users to select message and send message with the keyword module. Furthermore, usability testing for application is conducted using the System Usability Scale (SUS) Questionnaire with usability criteria assessed in the form of efficiency and satisfaction. The result showed an overall SUS value of 76, which indicates that this application as a whole has a good usability.

Abstract

Imbalances between patient and medical personnel, especially nurses on duty 24 hours monitoring the condition of inpatients result in negligence. For example in terms of monitoring the condition of intravenous fluids. Based on these case examples, a system that is able to reduce the level of negligence and help the performance of medical personnel to improve hospital services. So to overcome this, a system designed to monitor intravenous fluids centrally using digital image processing. Some digital image processing methods used are thresholding to separate object image with the background, morphology to improve threshold image results by using dilation and erosion operation, moment invariant to describe characteristic shape and infusion fluid condition seen from a number of area and position. By using Raspberry Pi as a processing unit and sending information the infusion fluid condition is controlled centrally on the local network using TCP / IP socket as the communication medium to the server. The results of this study indicate that the system can detect infusion fluid conditions using several methods of processing digital images and send detection results to the server.

Abstract

Nowadays, there are numbers of researches on Smart Home that have been done by technicians even though they need a lot of relevant hardware and periods of time to design plan and ways of implementation for the Smart Home. Therefore, this research conducted with focus on developing Smart Home simulator based on desktop application which can improve the time and hardware needed since it enables the Smart Home to be used without utilizing lots of hardware. The system consists of two applications which are (i) Control and Monitoring application and (ii) Object Simulator application. The Control and Monitoring application provides user's information, list of object and information of rule. In this system, the method of distributed rule will be implemented to turn on and turn off the objects while the objects for this present research are PIR sensor and lamps. Rule contains patterns for which lamps that are going to on if the PIR sensor detects the human existence. This system also produces program code for PIR sensor and light nodes that aim to validate the use of distributed rules on hardware. The result of this research shows that simulator object can receive rule from Control and Monitoring application with the success rate of 100% out of 28 times rule transmissions and also can be executed with the success rate of 100% out of 28 times tests. The application can also display the program code according to the rule chosen by the user.

Abstract

The efficiency of electricity usage is less concerned in our daily life. It can be seen by lots of people who wasting electricity by using electronic devices excessively. For example, people forgot to turn off their electronic devices when they leave their house, it resulted in wasted electricity usage. To resolve the problem above, The researcher would like to implement a centralized smart home system that could save electricity bills using K-Means algorithm. Inside the system that has been developed by the researcher, it will work automatically by using the result of K-Means algorithm learning process based on user behavior in using electronic devices, so it will know when the devices should be turned on or turned off. The result of K-Means algorithm learning process is an optimal schedule to turn the electronic devices on and off. Based on the optimal schedule, the system will automatically control when the electronic devices will be turned on or off, which has been tested using simulator with 100% accuracy. Moreover, the system is able to calculate the percentage of cost efficiency in electricity usage, which has been tested to six different users with the result of cost saving percentage that each user get is 7.345%, 6.554%, 4.398%, 9.62%, 12.471%, and 7.69%.

Abstract

Biomedical Laboratory is one of laboratories at Brawijaya University Medical Faculty. Considering the eminent level of requirement for laboratory's various services management which continues to grow along with the need for a data inventory and monitoring of materials and equipment stock, it is necessary to rebuilt laboratory management information system to facilitate every laboratory requirements while providing simplicity and flexibility for future development. Biomedical laboratory management information system has to be redesigned according to user requirements based on comprehensive requirements analysis phase with detailed design so it can be completely implemented and in accordance with user requirements. This technologies are Laravel 5 framework which built by PHP programming language and Apache server as a local server which would be installed on several computers at laboratory. This research produces an information system which can perform data inventory process, stock monitoring of materials and tools and also informations system alreadys meet laboratorium's business process and functionality requirement that already have been tested by software testing method.

Abstract

The increasing number of daily consumption of beef, it is need to monitoring the availability of good-quality beef, which is free from germs. In this research will be created a system that can be solve the subjective, unclear and vague problem, that is cattle disease diagnose, the existence of subjective information about the symptoms of the disease, then the diagnosis can be done using a fuzzy inference system. To obtaining the high accuracy, the set of fuzzy membership needs to be determined precisely. To get the best solution or in this case is the set of fuzzy membership can be done using Evolution Strategies method. The accuracy of the system is obtained by matching the results of the diagnosis and the diagnosis expert system using 51 generates test data accuracy rate of 95.49% using fuzzy. After optimization of the fuzzy set membership using evolution strategies (ES) produces better accuracy rate is 97.45% with the best parameters obtained ES is the population size of 80, offspring size of 10μ, and the amount of generation by 50.

Abstract

In App Purchase System is one of Google Play's features that allows developers to sell additional contents on applications that available on Google Play. But the In App Purchase System has its shortcomings, it can be hacked by VirtualSwindler system. LuckyPatcher is an example of VirtualSwindler system that able to manipulate signature verification process and save unauthentic purchase data into the local device system. The combination of 3 security methods, Server Side Verification, Verification Bypass Detection, dan Obfuscator, successfuly secure the In App Purchase system of a Weather Information App from the attacks of LuckyPatcher with 100% of accuracies . Verification Bypass Detection will determine wether the verification process is authentic or not. Server Side Verification will check the authenticity of saved purchase data without the worries of being manipulated by the compromised In App Purchase system. Obsfucator can keep the saved data secure from unauthentic modifications.

Abstract

Tsunami is a natural events caused by sudden alteration in sea surface vertically, causing displacement of a large volume of water. Underwater volcano eruption, earthquake that is centered under the sea, and submarine landslide are some of the causes of sudden sea level change. Tsunami have occurred many times and causing many damages and fatalities. Tsunami often occurred so suddenly and cannot be predicted is the main reason for so many damages and fatalities, and the lack of knowledge and awareness are also worsen the effect of tsunami. K-Medoids is one of many clustering method which is applied to the dataset which have outlier. Subject in this research is a clustering application using K-Medoids to cluster the tsunami event which caused by earthquake dataset. Dataset used in this research come from the tsunami events database from the official site of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The outcome from this research is a system that able to do clustering process on the tsunami events dataset using K-Medoids method. From the test, it is showed that the best number of clusters for tsunami events dataset is 2 clusters.

Abstract

Technology is now growing rapidly. One of them is Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) which is a network connected to devices such as sink node, router and sensor node. However, the development is a problem if the node sensor in the Wireless Sensor Network to configure it manually. Each node in Wireless Sensor Network have the same frequency when communicating and local time is different, allowing node to send data at the same time that resulted in a collision data so that data is not received and can not be propagated on other nodes. To solve this problem, then applied the method Treecast and Reference Broadcast Synchronization (RBS) will be integrated. Treecast gives the address to the sensor node in a dynamic and keep the communication in order to remain able to do even if there are failures. While Reference Broadcast Synchronization is able to provide time equalization on each node. With a node beacon as the sender of the reference, beacon to give the order to synchronise. Next the nodes receiver synchronizes and share time with other receivers to get time difference and is used as time synchronization reference. This makes the node is able to provide guarantee in terms of sending and receiving data and no collision. The research results obtained are capable of dynamic addressing Treecast implemented in practice and is able to provide an address and a time to get the address of each sensor nodes in a sensor network network.Then for time synchronization using Reference Broadcast Synchronization node receiver uses 4 and 5 reference package that can achieve accuracy time synchronization to the unit millisecond time.

Abstract

One of the dissemination media of information related to services and facilities provided by Jawa Timur Park is via the website. jawatimurparkgroup.com is one of Jawa Timur Park's official website which can be accessed by domestic travelers and foreign tourists. In disseminating information, one aspect that is preferred in the comfort of use of an information system is the usability aspect. So far there are several methods in the evaluation of one of them is a method Heuristic Evaluation. In this study, the evaluation process carried out two stages: an initial evaluation website Jawa Timur Park Group and evaluation of improvement website Jawa Timur Park Group is based on 10 principles Heuristic Evaluation, such as H1 - Visibility of system status, H2 - Macth Between System and The Real Word , H3 - User Control and Freedom, H4 - Consistency and Standards, H5 - Error Prevention, H6 - Recognition Rather Than Recall, H7 - Flexibility and Efficiency of Use, H8 - Aesthethic and Minimalist Design, H9 - Helps Users Recognize, Diagnose, and Errors recovers, and H10 - Help and Documentation. Based on the evaluation, the problems are most commonly found in the category H8 principle - Aesthethic and Minimalist Design. In addition, it is also necessary improvement and further development of the website Jawa Timur Park Group is based on a comparison between the results of the initial evaluation and a second evaluation on the improvement of the website are still many problems found.
