AKRUAL: Jurnal Akuntansi is a peer-reviewed journal that is managed and published by Department of Accounting, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. AKRUAL is published periodically (twice a year) in April and October with six articles each time published (12 articles per year).

AbstractLower access to bank because UKM canât make financial statement suitable with bank standards. Therefore this research will descript financial statement of UKM and explain many constraints for UKM to compiling financial statement suitable standard in bank. The result of this research proves that without compiling financial statement, UKM can obtain loan from bank (BRI). This is because the bank had not specifies standard for the financial performance as one of the condition to obtain loan. So there is no relation about UKMâs capability in compiling financial statement with access capital of bank.

AbstractThis article aims to provide a framework to think about the role of participatory budgeting to improve managerial performance is associated with organizational culture and relationship between individuals at nonprofit organizations. Participatory budgeting process to function properlyand implemented well, if supported by the device work, human resources, individual relationships within the organization, and culture that has taken hold in a nonprofit organization. Each nonprofit organization aims to improve services and performance-oriented but not profit. Several nonprofit organizations have undergone repositioning and development organization which aims other than to provide services to the community also increases the profits from service operations.

AbstractAt the time of financial crisis, one of the influential institutions in society is banking. Banking sector provide soft loans to create productive employment for the community. On the other hand, customers also need the liquidity from bank-ing. These stakeholders needs can be met by looking at the performance of bank-ing. This study aims to determine differences in the performance of sharia banking and conventional banking during economic crisis. This study uses t-test to analyze the data. From the research, it was found that in general, the performance of conventional banking is better than sharia banking in the economic crisis.

AbstractCorporate governance mechanisms believed to have strong impact to the companiesâ performance. Corporate governance mechanisms examined in this study are managerial ownership and institutional ownership structure. The purposes of this study are to know the variables effect of managerial ownership and institutional ownership on cost of equity capital. The samples of the study are firms listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange in 2005. The F-test on the all variables at the level confidence 1% indicates the effect of all variables on cost of equity capital is significant. The result of this study showed that managerial ownership and institutional ownership have positive significant impact (at the level of confidence 1% and 5%) on the cost of equity capital. However this result showed that corporate governance mechanisms fail to decrease the cost of equity capital.

AbstractBuild the role of an effective internal auditors can not be separated from the application of good corporate governance in the company overall. The principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) such as fairness, independency, transparency, accountability, and responsibility in an effort to improve professionalism and the welfare of shareholders without ignoring stakeholder interest. Each report weaknesses in internal control or risk control effectiveness of the bank should be immediately followed up by the board of commissioners, board of directors, and executive officers related.

AbstractThe conflict of interest between agent and principal, asymmetrical information and accounting method selection are able to be used by the manager to do earning management practices. However, it could be reduced by practicing the good corporate governance mechanism which can adjust agent and principalâs interest. The objective of this study is to test the effect of good corporate governance mechanism, as reflected by institutional ownership, managerial ownership, presence of independent board and audit committee existence on the earnings management practice. Using sample from 62 companies in the manufacturing sector at the Jakarta Stock Exchange, which publish financial statement from 2005-2006. This study shows that good corporate governance mechanism insignificantly influence earnings management practice simultaneously. We can infer that mechanism havenât succeeded to minimize the earnings management practices.Â

AbstractThis article discusses the characteristics of carbon emissions as the negative externalities that previously could not be included in the financial statements. Further explains the history and development of carbon emission rights trading that allows negative externality can be recorded in financial accounting. Various methods are offered based on various accounting standards in order to record transactions of carbon emission rights trading compared and discussed. The complexity of the standard interpretation that is used to record a new problem in an effort to incorporate the negative externalities in the financial statements. At the end of this article, several recommendations for recording transactions of carbon emissions trading has to offer.
