Abstract

Financial literacy can lead to financial satisfaction (Henager & Anong, 2014). However, the majority of educated people are less content (Grable, J. E., Britt, S., & Cantrell, J., 2007). A person with greater financial literacy is more likely to excercise caution when making financial decisions and, therefore, less likely to feel confidence with their finances. This is also supported by studies by Hira, Fawslow, and Mugenda (cited in Robb & Woodyard, 2011). This study aims to empirically test the causal relationship of financial confidence and financial satisfaction use in relation to financial behavior. This study is an explanatory study aimed at discovering and explaining the causal relationship between variables (Sujarweni, 2019). The results of the study partially indicate a significant effect of financial satisfaction on financial behavior. Financial satisfaction has a positive relationship with financial behavior, Thus, it is concluded that hypothesis one is supported and tested by data (received) that financial satisfaction has a positive effect on financial behavior.

Abstract

In running their business, cooperatives need to conduct performance evaluation to determine its health level and improve the quality in the following years. KSPPS BMT Huwaiza is one of the cooperatives that provides loan and financing with mudharabah, murabahah, and ijarah contracts. In the midst of this Covid-19 pandemic, BMT Huwaiza managed to get government trust to receive revolving fund in order to support its activities. Thus, it is important to analyze the health level of BMT Huwaiza considering that this cooperative is responsible for the sustainability of the revolving fund. The performance evaluation on KSPPS BMT Huwaiza in 2017 - 2019 resulted in a health level of "Fairly Healthy" in 2017 with the score of 67.30 and 2018 with 70.95, and "Healthy" in 2019 having score of 84.60. Nevertheless, it is necessary for BMT Huwaiza to carry out further evaluation, particularly in capital and earning asset quality aspect which is still not optimal based on the assessment of health level of this cooperative. For cooperative members, by knowing the condition of current health level of the cooperative, it is hoped that they will increasingly believe that the fund managed by BMT Huwaiza will be able to continue providing benefits in the years to come.

Abstract

Several previous studies have revealed that the tourism sector is positively related to regional income (pendapatan asli daerah). Even though the selected research location still does not have tourism potential, the relationship between these two variables is important to discuss to find tourism potential in Sinjai Regency. This research uses quantitative analysis with the ErrorCorrection Model (ECM) approach, which shows that all variables have fulfilled the stationarity test, long-term cointegration, Error-Correction Term (ECT) and the classical assumption test (Boedijoewono, 2012), which is the time data-series from 2012 to 2021 is used to include proxies for the number of tourists, number of hotels and other accommodation, level of infrastructure, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDRP) in the tourism sector (trade, hotel and restaurant, entertainment and recreation sectors) and Original Regional Income in Sinjai Regency. The results of this research reveal that in the short term, changes in PAD are influenced simultaneously and partially by changes in the number of tourists, the length of roads in good condition, and Tourism GRDP. However, changes in PAD are not influenced by changes in the number of hotels. On the other hand, every change in the number of tourists and the length of road conditions will have an influence on changes both simultaneously and partially in PAD. Finally, the number of hotels and tourism GRDP do not have a significant influence on PAD.

Abstract

The study in this paper aims to estimate the effect of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs) on trade volume in Indonesia. The methodology used to determine the effect of the FTA and NTM is Fixed Effect Model (FEM) and Random Effect Model (REM) on a panel dataset from 2000 to 2020 in 10 main exports destination countries for Indonesia, and set four models to explain these effects. Models 2 to 4 which use the fulfillment of SPS, TBT and a combination of SPS and TBT as non-tariff barriers variables are found to have a negative and significant effect on Indonesia's export performance with resulting that SPS requirements by importing countries will be reduced by 5.7% (Model 2), TBT requirements by 6.02% (Model 3), and the combination of fulfilling SPS and TBT requirements 8.4% (Model 4) on Indonesia's export performance. In the REM model, RTA as a variable of FTA has a negative and significant impact on the value of Indonesia's exports with 3.8% effects. RTA policies with several countries such as Japan, Singapore and South Korea have not been effective in increasing Indonesia's exports for several periods. Meanwhile the trade between the USA and Indonesia without an FTA mechanism has actually increased the value of exports from 2003 to 2020. Furthermore, the implementation of meeting the requirements of non-tariff barriers could have a negative effect on Indonesia's export performance, and trade relations occur with four countries with the largest and negative intercept effect, namely Japan, followed by Singapore, USA and South Korea.
