Abstract

Intangible factor is a very important factor. The importance of measuring the value of intangible has become a challenge for a company nowadays, not only for functional companies (functional-based organization) but also for project companies (project-based organization). This research aimed to identify intangible factors and measure the value of intangible in organizations which are in the form of project. The value of measured intangible can be used to predict the potential gained value of a project conducted by a company. The object of this research is a project-based company running business on repair and maintenance service (after sale service), logistic, and general contractor (general construction). The identification process of intangible was done by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method.  Then, a prediction model for determining the project value was made by considering its intangible factor. This model was made using multiple-regression analysis. Intangible factors that have been identified are technology, human knowledge, management capability, networking, and financial support. The intangible values of each intangible factor and their qualities respectively are: management capability is 0.444, networking is 0.262, financial support is 0.152, human knowledge is 0.089, and technology is 0.052. From the measured intangible, it can be seen that the value of mean square error (MSE) is 0.0065. It shows that this prediction model can be used to predict a project value by considering its intangible factor

Abstract

Strengthening is a solution to improve supporting power of the boned concrete structure and strengthening the endurance of building. This research aims to find out the stiffness, ductility and cracking pattern of the negative moment area of beam. This research used three experimental beams, they are 1 control beam (BK), 1 strengthening beam 4Ø10 mm of steel cable on pulling area (BP1) and 1 strengthening beam using 4Ø10 mm of steel cable on pulling area and 2P8 mm on the pressing area (BP2) using mortar as the concrete blanket. The experimental object was in form of boned concrete beam T, with 2400 of length (l), 250 mm of height (h), 150 mm of width (bw), 400 mm of width of flens (t), 75 mm of height of flens (t). The steel cable and the diameter of boned steel used for strengthening process is 10 mm and 8 mm of plain type. The beam would be tested on the basis of flexibility by using static loading and simple support. The measurement of load, tension, and flexibility was done during the experiment (testing). Based on the results of experiment, it is shown that the maximum loads on the testing objects of BK, BP1, and BP2 respectively are 88.5 kN and 259 kN. The ratio of stiffness comparison of initial stiffness BP1 and BP2 to BK was 0.33 and 0.48. The ratio of ductility comparison of BP1 and BP2 to BK was 0,33 and 0.48. The collapsing pattern of each strengthening beam was debonding, but the steel cable on the strengthening beam still contributed the pulling tension, so the existing load kept on increasing until reaching maximum load.

Abstract

Soft sedimentary layer caused the amplification effect which amplified seismic wave. Besides of that, the soft sedimentary layer also have atenuation effect of seismic wave propagation. This research was conductedto evaluated the amplification and attenuation effect in soft sedimentary layer based on theoritical evaluation and 176 microtremor datas of Denpasar city which analyzed using HVSR method. The results of this research show that the value of amplification have a linier relation with the quality factor that have negative correlation with attenuation. The quality factors that calculated from HVSR curves are the quality factor of secondary seismic wave propagation

Abstract

Neutron star is an object in Milky Way that is studied relativistically using general relativity theory. One of the fields of study of the Neutron Star is the reduction of its magnetic field. Therefore, the equation of magnetic field dynamic is needed to show the reduction of magnetic field in the Neutron Star. The equation formula of magnetic field dynamic can be drawn from the first equation of Maxwell’s relativistic. If the Neutron Star being studied is rotating, it is important to use ZAMO (Zero Angular Momentum Observers) base. The first Maxwell’s relativistic on the Neutron Star rotating quickly has been formulated and was measured by ZAMO observer. The equation drawn was only limited on deferential equation in radial, polar, and azimuth components

Abstract

This research aims to develop a website product for the Mechanical Engineering Education Department that is suitable for academic service. It is very important to do in order to improve the service quality of the Mechanical Engineering Education Department to realize its vision and mission and also to give beneficial effect in improving the accreditation status of the department. The design of this research is Research and Development of 4D model. The steps of 4D model includes: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The define step aims to collect various information related to the product to develop. The design step aims to prepare the design of first product. The develop step aims to produce a suitable website. The disseminate step is the last step in developing the product. The subject of this research consisted of two parties; they are validator (website experts) who validated the website and students of the Mechanical Engineering Education Department of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University. The instruments used to collect the research data are validation sheet of the suitability of website product and questionnaire for student satisfaction of academic service. The data analysis used descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The Website of the Mechanical Engineering Education Department that has been developed is in good category, so it has been suitable for public access. The website can be accessed through: http://ptm.ustjogja.ac.id. The website gives students academic service satisfaction in a very good category.

Abstract

This article presents the natural frequency analysis of beam framework and axial force effect. The analysis considers the modification of mass matrix, rigidity, and geometric matrix of semi-rigid beam framework.  The rigidity matrix, mass, and semi-rigid geometric connecting rod were derived from polynomial Hermite modification. This paper shows an example of natural frequency of beam framework with axial force effect or not. The results of analysis were used to show the efficiency of the calculation of beam frame work model with semi-rigid connection, which results in a more realistic solution than rigid connection model. This paper also shows that the change of axial force can result in the change of natural frequency of beam framework. Besides, this method can be used to examine any building because it can calculate the effect of structural rigidity

Abstract

This research generally aims to describe the effects of civic learning in nurturing students’ political literacy, and specifically aims to examine and discover the effects of civic components application that consist of civic learning and competences on the level of students’ political literacy. This research used quantitative approach and descriptive method of survey technique. From the research results, it could be generally concluded that: (1) civic learning through various democratic learning methods strengthened the effects of civic education in nurturing students’ political literacy, (2) the better quality of students’ civic competences the higher their level of political literacy, and (3) an effective and meaningful civic competences could directly improve students’ political literacy

Abstract

This research discussed prey and predator model showing the interaction between one prey and two predators by using poison. The interaction between prey and predator used response function of Holling type II. The growth of prey and predator used logistic function. From the model, it was found five equilibrium points. The local stability of each equilibrium point was analyzed. To make it easier in interpreting the dynamic between prey and two predators and the effect of giving poison, the numeric simulation was done by showing the change of parameter of the level of death due to poison and the efficiency of changing the prey consumption towards the birth of the first and second predators

Abstract

Dengue shock system (DSS) is disease that is caused by virus and attacks the thrombosis of human being that may break the blood vessel and may cause death. This disease is caused by mosquito named Aedes aegypty whose cycle is five years and its proliferation is very quickly     (7 days). Preventive efforts that have been done so far is by relying on chemical medicines by fogging and the use of Abate in which it may cause dependency on it and residue of mosquitoes. The content of Abate that kills mosquito larva is themephose, that is a compound organic phosphate which is the same as papain from papaya (Carica papaya L). The  content of this compound kills the growth of mosquito larva by slowing down the rate of metabolism in their bodies. The content of compound in Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L) plants is chosen because it does not contain residue on the environments and, on the contrary, if is unintentionally drunk by people will minimize the effect of suffering from diabetes. This research used Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L) plant extract, particularly from its leaves and stems because its content of alkaloid is more than the content of themephose in Abate; that is 4.06 ppm and 1,56 ppm per 100 gram of the plant (Abate 1 ppm per 100 gram), so in term of activity it is proven that by using the leave extract can kill the mosquito larva in shorter time, less than 24 hours with concentration 100%. Meanwhile, in the stem solution, the percentage of the death of larva is almost the same as the papaya solution, in which it takes less than 78 hours with concentration 100%. It was supported by the result of test using CRD from which it was known that leave extract has larger coefficient than stem extract. It means that the capability of the leave extract (deviation standard 12.43s) is larger than  the stem extract (deviation standard 7.2s). Compared to the use of Abate, the average death of mosquito larva by using leave extract is 26.9 larva per day and compared to the use of stem extract, the average death of mosquito larva is 3.93 larva per day. Economically, we can save Rp 11.350,00/pack if we take Ciplukan leaves and stem to be extracted in which it consists of 10 grams of  Ciplukan leave and stem extract. If the extract or natural Abate is sold, it will cost Rp 650,00/pack; it is more economical than the price of chemical Abate in which price Rp 12.000,00/pack. From the calculation, it is so profitable if we run business on it. We can get back our capital for one year, in which the break event point (BEP) can be reached after selling 162 units which cost Rp 162.000,00 and the profit is more or less Rp 283.000,00/ each production
