Abstract

This research was conducted to provide a comprehensive description about how the results of the cognitive learning outcomes of the physics field were indirectly supported by self-efficacy in the decision making process of the beliefs of the chosen answers. This research is descriptive qualitative research and involves 24 samples of class X students. The sample technique chosen was purposive sampling. The testing of cognitive learning outcomes in cognitive domains was conducted and designed by physics education lecturers and self-efficacy testing carried out and designed by lecturers in the direction of guidance and counseling using attitude scales. This combination of measurements produces two decisions on self-efficacy: positive and negative. The results of the study showed that students with high self-efficacy got high scores also on the physics test of cognitive learning outcomes. These students are classified as students with positive self-efficacy. Conversely, negative self-efficacy shows that students have high self-efficacy but get low cognitive test results in cognitive domains. These results are certainly influenced by several factors including uncertainty and anxiety.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Web-Based Simulation (WBS) on Physics learning to enhance digital literacy skills of Grade XI students in high school. The level of digital literacy skills of the students in the experiment and control group before and after they study using WBS learning and none was determined respectively. The comparison of their levels before and after the study was done to determine the effectiveness of the WBS learning. The participants of this study were 49 students of science class, with 14-16 age. The research design in this study were descriptive-comparison and pretest-posttest experimental design. Data analysis using Anova mixed design with significant 5%. The result of this study are level of students' digital literacy skill before learning process is generally very low; but after the treatment these skill was comparatively increased. In addition, there was a significant difference in the level of digital literacy skill of the classes where the WBS learning is the more effective than direct learning to enhance students’ digital literacy skill.

Abstract

Most of physics teachers in Purworejo Regency use conventional teaching media. This is due to the lack of understanding and information about the latest It-based teaching media. They need new breakthroughs and methods to improve the quality of physics learning, especially those related to the development of teaching media. Therefore CMS (Content Management System) web exe and Arduino-based training needs analysis are conducted for Purworejo Regency physics teachers. This effort are tested by research descriptions are by giving questionnaires to respondents. The results showed that Purworejo district physics teachers needed continuous and periodic training with guided monitoring and needed training related to the latest IT-based teaching media such as e learning and microcontroller-based teaching media such as Arduino.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce an experimental design for determining the viscosity coefficient using jetAudio and Subtitle Edit software, and determining the value of the fluid viscosity coefficient by using this experimental design. In this study, the type of fluid used is packaged cooking oil, and the object used is a magnetic ball. The method proposed by the author to measure the travel time of the magnetic ball in cooking oil is by using the combination of coil sensors, jetAudio, and Subtitle Edit. JetAudio software will record magnetic induction traces as the magnetic ball passes the coils into audio format, Subtitle Edit software is used to determine travel time of the magnetic ball based on jetAudio recording data. The results of this study are jetAudio and Subtitle Edit can be used in fluid viscosity coefficient experiments. The value of the cooking oil viscosity coefficient obtained from this study is 0,561431096 Pa.s.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a virtual laboratory (Vir-lab) based guided inquiry on viscosity experiments and know the students' perceptions of the products developed. This study was a research and development using 4D model that consists of four stage: define, design, develop, disseminate. The participants were two material experts, two media experts, and 43 students. Data collection used expert assessment sheet and student response questionnaire. The data were analyzed descriptively. The result of this study was a Vir-lab which was packaged in e-book form with 3D effects. The activities in the Vir-lab are designed based on the syntax of guided inquiry. The Vir-lab contains goals, problem formulations, theories, hypotheses, tutorial videos, virtual experiments, experimental data, data analysis, results, and conclusions. The results of the material expert obtained a score of 45 with a very good category and media experts obtained a score of 66 with a very good category, and the results of the students' perception test obtained a score of 60.65 with a very good category. The conclusion of this study shows that the Vir-lab is valid and suitable for use as a medium for learning physics.

Abstract

The subject of this research was to discribe the implementation physics learning materials based generative learning with open-ended problem approach to stimulate students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is 4D consisting of four stages, in this paper discussing a review of the implementation which includes in development stage. The  data collection instruments are essay tests, assessment sheets, and student competency sheets. Analysis technique carried out in three domain:cognitive design assessment uses the t test with sub-scale analysis of critical thinking, also using gain test analysis to see an increase in critical thinking, then the analysis for affective and psychomotor domains using descriptive statistics. Based on analysis of student’s competency critical thinking skills increased by 29.9%. with tcount19.06>t(0.975)(31)1.67 in significance level 0.05, also gain factor from the 1st meeting until 4th meeting are 1=0.3,2=0.4,3=0.5,4=0.5 in an interval 0.3<g<0.7 indicating significant differences. It means by using this learning material student can increase their critical thinking skill. In the affective domain, the attitudes of the learner in good categories with a class average of 76.65% and competency skills get an average of 74.18%, placing this material can improve learners learning outcomes in affective competencies and skills.

Abstract

The result of need analysis shown that are difficulties still exist for teachers and students if they are learning in the new condition immediately. Therefore, this study aims to provide learning tools in the digital form and called as digital story conceptual change oriented (DSCC). This research was research and development by using ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) design. This media tested the small scale test. The product designed on the subject of physics (Heat and Temperature) was validated by experts and tested on 147 respondents from Junior High School in West Singkawang and Central Singkawang sub-disctrict. The developed design was measured based on Learning Aspect (LA) which consists of: 1) Contextual problems, 2) Solution / Answer to the problem, 3) Communication effectiveness. The results of small-scale product trials shown that the Problem Solution aspect got the highest percentage of 93% and the communication aspect becomes the lowest with 73% while also having the worst responses with a percentage of 10%. This study could be references for researchers to improve the product to be better media and it could be so that it can be used directly and produce good learning outcomes.
