Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kebiasaan mahasiswa dalam mendengarkan percakapan dalam Bahasa Inggris dan penguasaan kosakata pada mahasiswa semester 2 (dua) Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FKIP Universitas Batanghari tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 2 (dua) Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FKIP, Universitas Batanghari tahun ajaran 2015/2016 yang diambil keseluruhan yakni berjumlah 59 mahasiswa. Untuk mengumpulkan data kebiasaan mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa Inggris, peneliti menggunakan angket dan tes penguasaan kosa kata. Peneliti menemukan bahwa skor terendah pada kebiasaan mendengarkan percakapan dalam bahasa inggris adalah 2 jam pada tiap minggunya dan yang tertinggi adalah hingga 5 jam pada tiap minggu. Persentasi kemampuan penguasaan kosakata mahasiswa termasuk dalam kategori bagus adalah sebesar 16% atau sebanyak 10 mahasiswa, menengah sebesar 81% atau sebanyak 48 orang dan rendah sebesar 1% atau hanya sebanyak satu orang mahasiswa. Setelah menemukan skor tiap variable, peneliti menemukan bahwa kalkulasi korelasi antara variable X dan Y dengan menggunakan rumus Spearman Rank dengan nilai R sebesar 0.075 atau dapat dikategorikan kedalam korelasi yang sangat rendah sehingga ditemukan bahwa tidak ada hubungan korelasi yang signifikan yang mana nilai Zhitung = 0.570 karena Ztabel=1.96 dengan level signifikan 5%, artinya Zhitung<Ztabel, maka Ho diterima dan Ha ditolak.Kata Kunci: Listening Habit in English Conversation, Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract

Writing this article is to explain "traditional game-based learning to develop the potential of language and socioemotional early childhood", particularly of children aged 5-6 years (kindergarten). To that end, the description in this article include: learning in early childhood education, the development potential and the socio-emotional language in kindergarten, and the implementation of the traditional game based learning in kindergarten. The first description includes a foothold learning in early childhood education and a theme-based learning, based learning centers, the traditional games in early childhood education. The second description covers the scope of language and socio-emotional development of children and the level of achievement of language and socio-emotional development of children. The third description includes the scope of application of the language and socio-emotional development of the child, the application-based learning centers, approach of learning theme, and the application of traditional games in learning.Keywords: learning, traditional game, language, socio-emotional

Abstract

Pattern foster parent is the overall interaction of parents with children, where parents stimulate their children by changing attitudes, behavior, attention, rules, discipline, reward and funismant, knowledge and response to the wishes of his son, as well as the values that are considered appropriate by the parents, so that children can be independent, grow and develop in a healthy and optimal. The role of democratic parenting applied parents make children become people who are willing to accept criticism and respect for others, have high self-confidence and is able to be responsible for their social life. Potential is the basic capabilities of a person who is still hidden and has the possibility to be developed if it is supported by the participation of the environment, exercise and adequate facilities, while there are four kinds of potential possessed by humans, namely, intellectual potential emotionally, spiritually and physically to be able to develop the potential of innovative ideas is needed, therefore i oneself and one's creativity can flourish if it is accompanied by various supporting factors such as family, school, environment and technology. Recognizing the potential of their children is one of the old rang effort in facilitating the development of children There are three models of counseling approaches that can be studied as a support and knowledge for the natural parents guide their children including counseling directive, non-directive counseling and eclectic approach.
