Abstract

Construction industry is characterized in nature as complex, fragmented, dynamic and involves many parties therefore effective communication is essential to overcome these challenges. Many researchers found that the industry faces major challenge to ensure effective and successful communication throughout the lifecycle of the project which therefore resulted to project failure. Poor communication in construction industry had been addressed in previous research studies; however, this paper presents and examines the identification of causes and effects which lead to poor communication. Further investigations on previous literature were conducted to extract the causes and effects which contributed to poor communication in construction industry. Similarity technique was applied to avoid duplications in the identified causes and effect of poor communication. Using the frequency technique, from the 33 causes of poor communication it was found that the most dominant cause is lack of effective communication. Whereas, out of 21 effects from poor communication, it was found that highly repeated effect is time overrun. These findings will serve a good platform for further investigation on the relevancy of causes and effects to the local construction practitioners.

Abstract

The use of electric vehicles in addition to reducing environmental concerns can play a significant role in reducing the peak and filling the characteristic valleys of the daily network load. In other words, in the context of smart grids, it is possible to improve the battery of electric vehicles by scheduling charging and discharging processes. In this research, the issue of controlling the charge and discharge of electric vehicles was evaluated using a variety of neural models, until the by examining the effect of the growth rate of the penetration level of electric vehicles of the hybrid type that can be connected to the distribution network, the results of the charge management and discharge model of the proposed response are examined. The results indicate that due to increased penetration of these cars is increased the amount of responses to charge and discharge management. In this research, a variety of neural network methods, a) neural network method using Multilayer Perceptron Training (MLP), b) neural network method using Jordan Education (RNN), c) neural network method using training (RBF ) Was evaluated based on parameters such as reduction of training error, reduction of network testing error, duration of run and number of replications for each one. The final results indicate that electric vehicles can be used as scattered power plants, and can be useful for regulating the frequency and regulation of network voltages and the supply of peak traffic. This also reduces peak charges and incidental costs, which ultimately helps to further network stability. Finally, the charge and discharge management response reflects the fact that intelligent network-based models have the ability to manage the charge and discharge of electric vehicles, and among the models the amount of error reduction training and testing is very favourable for both RNN, MLP.

Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the relation between transformational leadership and staff's attitudes with consideration of the mediating role in psychological empowerment. The purpose was applied type and the method used in this research was descriptive-survey. To collect the relevant data in this study, Sung's staff attitude standard questionnaire (2006), Bass & Alluvium's Transformational Leadership Questionnaire (2000) and Spreitzer's Psychological Capital Questionnaire (1998) were used. The reliability of each questionnaire was 0.786.0.802 and 0.799, respectively. The population studied was the staff and managers of the municipality in Region 1, Karaj with 280 persons. Regarding to their limited number, 162 individuals were selected randomly to determine the sample size using the Morgan table and the questionnaire was distributed among these individuals. To collect the information and data required to evaluate the research's hypotheses, a questionnaire and statistical analysis software as SPSS and LISREL were evaluated. At the inferential level, inferential techniques such as Kolmogorov-Smirnov's normal test, Pearson correlation test, and structural equation modeling were used to test the hypotheses. Based on the results, the studied hypotheses were accepted.

Abstract

FPGA chips have wide applications in nowadays digital systems. Because of fault prone nature of FPGA chips, testing of them is one of the major challenges for designers. Among various test methods, the Built-in Self-Test (BIST) based ones have shown good performance. In this paper, we presented a BIST-based approach to test LUTs as most vulnerable part of FPGA chip. The BIST-based approach is off-line and has been accomplished within two FPGA configurations. Each configurable logic block (CLB) can be tested independently and there is no handshaking among various CLBs' BIST cores. The proposed BIST architecture has been simulated in HSPICE based on 45-nm CMOS technology. Simulation results shown 100% coverage for single stuck at faults along with 19% area overhead due to additional BIST hardware and 25% increase in leakage power.

Abstract

Processors are main part of the calculation and decision making of a system. Today, due to the increasing need of industry and technology to faster and more accurate computing power, design and manufacture of parallel processing units, has been very much considered. One of the most important processor families used in various devises is the MIPS processors. This processor family had been considered in the telecom and control industry as a reasonable choice. In this paper, new architecture based on this processor, with new parallel processing design, is provided to allow parallel execution of instructions dynamically. Ultimately, the processor efficiency to several fold will be increased. In this architecture, new ideas for the issuance of instructions in parallel, intelligent detection of conditional jumps and memory management are presented.

Abstract

Today, cloud computing has become popular among users in organizations and companies. Security and efficiency are the two major issues facing cloud service providers and their customers. Since cloud computing is a virtual pool of resources provided in an open environment (Internet), cloud-based services entail security risks. Detection of intrusions and attacks through unauthorized users is one of the biggest challenges for both cloud service providers and cloud users. In the present study, artificial intelligence techniques, e.g. MLP Neural Network sand particle swarm optimization algorithm, were used to detect intrusion and attacks. The methods were tested for NSL-KDD, KDD-CUP datasets. The results showed improved accuracy in detecting attacks and intrusions by unauthorized users.

Abstract

The present paper focused on ad hoc networks with an emphasis on their dynamic nature. After an introduction to ad hoc networks, there are the AODV (Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector) routing protocol with the node malicious behaviour and consequent damages to ad hoc networks. Then, trust is described as one of the solutions for identifying secure routes when there are malicious nodes in the network. Accordingly, the paper focuses on the proposed solutions that are based on the parameter trust and the prevention of the impact of malicious networks and vulnerable connections to identify a secure route. Then, an equation is presented to calculate trust using packet forwarding rate to select a secure route for sending data packets. The proposed model was implemented on OMNET++ to evaluate the network performance. The feature of the proposed method is better performance than of the methods TVAODV and AODV. Using the proposed method, packet delivery rate increases more significantly when malicious nodes increases than that of the basic method AODV and TVAODV. There is thus a lower packet dropping rate.

Abstract

In this paper, focuses on the design of Low Noise Amplifier circuitry in the frequency band L. This circuit is designed using the 0.18 nm CMOS transistor technology, which consists of two transistor Stage. The purpose of this research is to improve the cost of: Increase Gain - Increase circuit linearization - Create an integrative matching network for system stability. The application of this circuit can be used in wireless and GPS systems. The CMOS LNA exhibits a gain greater than 23 dB from 1.1 to 2.0 GHz, and a noise figure of 2.7 to 3.3 dB from 1.2 to 2.4 GHz. At 1.575 GHz, the 1-dB compression point (P1dB) is 1.73 dBm, with an input third-order intercept point (IIP3) of -3.98 dBm. This circuit is designed using ADS software.
