Abstract

The wide-spread news which tarnished the name of STAIN Curup cause a negative image of this institution in community. It can be seen from the decreasing of public interest to learn at STAIN Curup by the decline in number of participants followed selections in STAIN Curup at 2013-2015. This study aims to provide an overview and in-depth explanation about the image restoration strategies of STAIN Curup. This research was conducted using qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collecting done by observations, interviews, documentary studies, and data analysis to find answers to; (1) How is the strategy of STAIN Curup to recover its image? (2) What are the obstacles in recovering the image of STAIN Curup? The results showed that the strategy done by STAIN Curup is promotion to the schools annually. The inhibiting factors are: first, tactic. The tactic used in image restoration of STAIN Curup concentrated just on one form, namely the school to school promotion. The second factor is the role and tasks of Public Relation. The roles and tasks are not maximized, PR is just still reputed as the sender of letters. The third factor is the organizational communication. It is not running properly. Communication within an organization plays an important role, without it the organizational life will be fragile, can not grow and even die maybe.

Abstract

This study focuses on the phenomenon about deviation behavior of news coverage team reporter. In doing their duties, reporters regulated and guided by the Code of Ethics in Journalism which insists journalist to be professional in carrying out their jobs and provide valuable news whichare objective, equilibrate, neutral, honest and based on facts. The purpose of this study isto determine the forms, methods, and factors which cause behavioral aberrations byjournalist ofnews coverageteam consistsby Reporter and Cameraman in the"X"TV station. The method used is a qualitative research with phenomenological approach. The subjects are eight journalists consisting of three senior and two junior reporters, two seniorand two junior cameramans. The results showed the forms of behavior irregularities committed by the journalist of news coverageteamin"X" TV stations is the rewardsacceptance by the term "envelope",falsification ofairedcopy, and the use of fictitious sources. The ways used by journalists of news coverage teamis obtaining informationsfromothers when doing the duties from their coordinators, and by approaching and contacting the informants directly. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how artists self-image is displayed in media, and how an artist prepares him/herself. This study also aims to know how the artists understand their popularity as the result of news delivered by journalists in mass media. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with dramaturgicaltheoryapproach. Dramaturgy is actually under a larger perspective which is often called by phenomenological perspective or interpretive perspective. The results of this study indicate that self-image for the artist determines the impression to be formed in the mass media. The better self-image displayed, the bigger chance to get a good impression will be achieved. Before dealing with a reporter for an interview, the artist did some preparations, such as be neat and dressing up, cool their self down in order to be in a good or stable emotions, and have a discussion with the management to show a positive self-image in front of journalists. Artists fullyunderstandthe meaning of popularity for themselves.The positive popularity will also give a positive effect. Meanwhile, if they gained negative popularity, it will impact to contract termination with third parties, loss of earning opportunities through advertisement,off air, losing fans,etc. This displayed self-image, if delivered positively by journalists in news, it will give a positive

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine PT Grahawita Santika’s point of view about marketing communication, the mixs in marketing management doing by PT. Grahawita Santika in marketing Amaris Panglima Polim Jakarta and the reasons of choosing traveler as the targets. The method used in this research is qualitative with case study design. The theory used is symbolic interaction, social construction and Theory of Gaps Model. The datas collected through observations, interviews and document analysis. The results showed that: (1) PT Grahawita Santika markets Amaris Panglima Polim Jakarta as a smart hotel with the concepts of smart location, smart employee and smart services. (2) Mixs of marketing communication used in marketing the Amarishotel is by advertisement, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations and publications, (3) The selection of Business Traveler and Leisure Traveler as the target caused by PT Grahawita Santika saw the potential which might be met by the hotel Amaris PanglimaPolim Jakarta.

Abstract

The development of information technology media is growing day by day, as well as a variety of informations given to the public which are very diverse and purposed to provideinsight, entertainment, and knowledge for the community, so that the quality of any informations conveyed must be kept. Similar to the LPP RRI Padang, which also do not want to miss in broadcasting which he has. The religious proselytizing program in LPP RRI becomes a main menufor RRI Padang every day. Its objective is to provide religious knowledge for surroundings by the determined methods appropriate to the program. However, to improve the quality, anin-depth analysis for the message delivered is needed, so that the future proselytizing material delivered will have a goodgrade and quality. The method used in analyzing these messages is a discourse analysis using Van Dijk framework, so that eachdelivered message can be analyzed in the form of thematic, schematic, semantic, syntactic, stylistic, and rhetorical. By using the framework, there will be some assessments of the messages, and may be some improper things which is meant the language used in preaching is rather ambiguous or there is no emphasizingvalues (semantic to rhetorical) to the message sent by preachers in media such as radio
