Abstract

This study discusses the Communication Competence of Islamic Religious Counselors in Preventing Early Marriage Through Guidance for School-Age Adolescents (BRUS) at SMK Negeri 2 Barru. The background of this study is based on the high number of early marriages which have a negative impact on education, health, and the future of adolescents, so that an active role of religious counselors is needed as agents of change in providing education and guidance to adolescents. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving religious counselors, teachers, and students as informants. The results of the study indicate that (1) religious counselors have communication competencies that include interpersonal communication skills, persuasive communication, dialogic and empathetic in order to build emotional closeness with students. (2) The BRUS program at SMK Negeri 2 shows positive achievements thanks to the support of various supporting factors, including the openness of the school, the competence of religious counselors in effective and contextual communication, and active student participation. (3) The communication strategy used by Islamic religious counselors in the BRUS program at SMK Negeri 2 Barru has proven effective in preventing early marriage. A persuasive approach through emotional, rational, and religious aspects successfully touches both the affective and cognitive aspects of students, thus encouraging conscious attitude change. This strategy is complemented by the use of communicative and contextual communication tailored to the background and dynamics of students' lives. Although this approach is relevant to the needs of adolescents, its effectiveness still needs to be improved through flexible time planning, small guidance groups, and cross-sector collaboration.

Abstract

This article examines the practice of local media reporting in West Sulawesi after the 2024 General Election through a theoretical approach based on critical discourse analysis. The main focus of this study is to examine the relationship between political interests and media neutrality, and how local media play a role in shaping political legitimacy through hegemonic narratives. Using the framework of Gramsci's hegemony theory, Herman & Chomsky's propaganda model, and agenda setting theory, this article reveals that local media tend to strengthen the dominance of political elites by highlighting narratives of victory and stability without including the voices of the opposition or civil society. The findings show that what appears to be neutral reporting is actually a form of symbolic hegemony that is decentralized and based on local economic-political relations. This article contributes to the development of hegemony theory in the context of local political communication in Indonesia, by offering a concept of how local media actively shape ideological consensus in a fragmented power landscape

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the da'wah strategies implemented by the Modern Mosque of Kurir Langit in campaigning the Food Donation Movement in Parepare City, as well as to identify internal and external strategic factors that influence the sustainability of the program. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach within a field research framework, involving interviews and observations with administrators, Kurir Langit volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries. Secondary data were also obtained from books, journal articles, and online sources relevant to the topic. The data analysis process followed the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the mosque utilizes several strategic approaches, including the use of social media flyers and short videos as campaign tools and accountability media for donors and partners. The rational approach (al-manhaj al-‘aqli) is reflected in conveying theological, social, and humanitarian benefits of donating food, while the sensory approach (al-manhaj al-hissy) appears in volunteer engagement and millennial involvement through direct humanitarian activities. The study also identifies several weaknesses, such as limited human resources, inadequate donor participation, and the mosque’s geographically distant location from the urban center. Meanwhile, opportunities arise from technological developments, improved mosque infrastructure, and strong community trust. The threats include limited time for direct socialization, challenges in food distribution, and the dominance of rice as the primary donated item. Based on these findings, the study recommends strengthening digital communication strategies, expanding partnerships with local institutions, diversifying donated food items, and increasing volunteer training to enhance program effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze how the framing of corruption issues is constructed by Metro TV and TV One in reporting on the Corruption League and how the audience forms social reality on the news through comments on social media. In this study, the method used is qualitative with the Pan and Kosicki framing model analysis and Berger and Luckmann's Social Construction theory. This study focuses on two TV media that are quite popular in society, namely Metro TV and TV One. The results of the analysis show that all elements, Metro TV emphasizes more on the perpetrators of corruption who are made into sarcastic humor, by prioritizing the (Who) aspect so that it can form a critical public opinion towards acts of corruption. Meanwhile, TV One in its entire structure emphasizes the (How) aspect of the role of the government and law enforcement officers, which aims to give the impression that law enforcement is the main step in eradicating corruption. Public comments indicate the process of externalization, objectivation, and internalization of the narratives conveyed by each media. This study emphasizes the importance of understanding media framing and audience participation in shaping social reality in the digital era.
