Abstract

Food additives exposure assessment of benzoate is one of the important points in health risk assessment. This assessment is needed to protect the children from negative impact caused by excessive consumption of benzoate. The method used to predict individual benzoate consumption by calculating all benzoate consumption contained in food product in 3 days consumption. Concentration data of benzoate in the products was determined based on assumption of highest concentration allowed by government regulation of Food Additives i.e Permenkes no. 722/Menkes/PER/IX/1988. To obtain benzoate exposure level, the sum of benzoate consumptions was compared with safety limit level of benzoate (Acceptable Daily Intake) Value. This research resulted a mean value of benzoate consumption is 0.36 mm/kg BW (Body Weight) or its exposure level 7% ADI (ADI Benzoate= 5 mg/kg BW) and even highest consumer (95th) is 1.16 mg/kg BW or its exposure level 23% ADI

Abstract

A series of experiment of soybean tolerance to shade were conducted in order to attain the following objectives: genotypes evaluation for shade tolerance, appropriate selection method to screen tolerant genotype to shade characterization of molecular markers of shade tolerance by using RAPD marker. The morphological specific characters wich is corelated to shade tolerance is the number of productive branchs. The intensity 75% of artificial shading is optimal level for doing selection of soybean genotypes.Molecular analysis by using RAPD technique showed that UBC 153, ROTH 480.01, and ROTH 480.03 primer have polymorphic band that can be used for linkage analysis. All polymorphisms segregated independently of each ather. The nearest genetic distance was DNA fregment about 125 bp of UBC 153 marker which is linked to tolerance to shade character by about 0.13 centomorgans.

Abstract

The aims of the research are to use the technology of the geographic information system for mapping and simulation of the soil erosion, and to know the difference betweet actual and potential erosion on the spesific land use type. The area of the research is Jumapolo District, Karanganyar Regency. USLE equation method (R=R.K.L.S.C.P) was used to predict the soil erosion intensity. The steps of the research are (1) pre-survey, prepared equipments for suvey, (2) survey, was done by exploring predertemined land map unit, and (3) labs, analysis of the soil samples, the rainfall data and teh ArcView GIS. Analysis was done using rating based on Zachar (1982) in order to know the difference of the soil erosion intensity. The results of the research are first, geographic information system is useful to mapping and simulation of the soil erosion, especially to calculate data that numerous and difficult, to overlay, to layout the map (or the other spasial data) and the statistic of land area, second, Jumapolo District has variability of the soil erosion intensity i.e. very slight 25,77 ha (0,62% of the agriculture land area), slight 815,71 ha (20,39%), moderate 1.094,69 ha (25,49%), severe 1.150,58 ha (33,09%), very severe 827,25 ha (18,88%) and catastrophic 243,69 ha (1,53%) and third, the change of the land unit type and the conservation technic can change the soil erosio  intensity. Simulation process result that land area which have soil erosion intensity severe, very severe and catastrophic changes become slight and moderate, therefore the new compotitions of the soil erosion intensity are very slight 25,77 ha (0,62%), slight 1.665,48 ha (40,06%), moderate 2.466,43 ha (59,32%), and each severe, very severe and catastrophic 0 ha (0%).

Abstract

Agricultural sector get the especial priority in the effort economic development because this sector represent the dominant sector in Indonesia, either from contribution of national earnings, supply of employment, resource of stock-exchange etcetera. New approach in development ought to base on the fact that farmer have experienced of the process dinamisasi and modernize, so that farmer have more rational, have recognized the modern agriculture technology and recognize various high valuable agriculture commodity. Most of all farmer, including small businessman, have got the benefit from program of Bimas or green revolution, with adopting modern technology at paddy look like at growth rate high production until start a decay 1990-an. Food resilience do not only short-range, but long-range more important, that is how can create the situation able to push the stable production by trend mounting. This matter will concern some problem to determine the policy of concerning institute, produce, self sufficiency, stabilization of price and support price. Pprotection gets the efficiency, but protection needed a commodity which not yet ready to compete globally, to protect the emulation which do not fair, to protect the farmer, and to protect long-range food resilience.

Abstract

Increasing on electricity price by Indonesian Government in 2001 by 17.47% and 2002 by 24% not only has negative impact on industry sectors but also on agricultural sectors. This paper aims to analysis impact on agricultural sectors performance with using a Recursive Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) Model, namely “INDOF model”. The simulation indicates both in the short run and long run increasing on electricity price will reduce industry output, household consumption and employment in agricultural sectors. Besides that the policy will increase price of agricultural product. The negative impacts except household consumption are higher in the long run than that in the short run.

Abstract

Research to analyze phenotype and genotype of oil palm clone developed from tissue culture which showed normal fruits and abnormal fruits through SDS-PAGE protein technique, and RAPD technique. Result indicated that protein with molecular weight of 100 kDa could differentiate genotype with normal fruit and abnormal fruit from all clones observed. Study on DNA through RAPD technique revealed primers which differentiated genotypes (male flowered genotype, normal fruited genotype, and abnormal fruited genotype) within clone and interclonal, i.e. OPC-07, OPN-16, and SC 10-56. Molecular weight of DNA on zymogram bands pattern were different on each clone.Genetic similarity among clones and among genotypes were high, more than 85% indicated close genetic distance. Dendogram based on matrix of genetic similarity indicated grouping on each genotype.

Abstract

Material of animal food like as meat, milk and egg have the excess compared to material of vegetation food. The excess shown by nutrient content and vital function to the body. Therefore sufficiency gizi program is importance emboldened. But that way this program often burdened by less information, related to content cholesterol in the animal product that indicate as cause venous disease like as: Artherosclerosis, Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) and Stroke. Some research result shown that the consumption of animal product do not always increase plasma cholesterol blood. Imprecise thereby when decreasing or even fear to consume the animal product. The effort preventive must be require to decrease consume for consumer that have higher cholesterol. Inwrought effort as prevention can be conducted by arrange menu eat, regular sport and avoid the cigarette habit. Finally, campaign anti cholesterol shall be conducted by neglectlessly and wise so that gizi improvement program by the consumption of animal product can be succeed

Abstract

Leaf anatomy characters are commonly stable, however some of them can change because of environmental influence. Identification of those characters are necessary to be conducted by observing anatomical structure of the plants grown out side of the natural habitat. The objective of this research is to examine the stability of leaf anatomy characters of wild taro on their natural habitat and after planted in the dry field. Leaf anatomical observation was conducted by preparing paradermal and transversal sections. The result indicated that leaf anatomical character was the number of palisade layers of Ciju-2 and Jonggol grown out side their natural habitat was stable. Leaf anatomical characters of Ciju-2 collection were palisade thickness, sponge thickness, leaf thickness, stoma density on abaxial surface changed after planted on dry field. Whereas on Jonggol collection significant difference were found on papil height on abaxial surface, stomatal index on abaxial surface, and palisade thickness on dry field and natural habitat.
