Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relative weight and length of the lymphoid organs of male Magelang ducks that received phytobiotics from jengkol peel extract and probiotics based on Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The materials used in this study were 100 male Magelang ducks, jengkol skin extract, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens isolates, and commercial duck feed. The experimental design was completely randomized (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The treatment applied was the difference in the percentage of jengkol peel extract + Bacillus amyloliquefaciens at a dose of P0: (without additional treatment); P1 (0.05% + 0.5%); P2 (0.1% + 1%); P3 (0.15% + 1.5%); and P4(0.2% +2%) in drinking water. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance  (ANOVA) at the 5% level. Significantly different data were further tested using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The variables observed included the relative weight and length of thymus, bursa of Fabricius, and spleen. The results showed that the addition of jengkol peel extract and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens at different doses did not affect the relative length and weight of thymus, bursa Fabricius, and spleen of male Magelang ducks.

Abstract

       Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengkaji pengaruh midnight feeding terhadap feed intake, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi pakan (FCR) ayam kampung fase grower dan meningkatkan produktivitas ayam lokal Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 2 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu P1 (ayam kampung tanpa perlakuan midnight feeding) dan P2 (ayam kampung perlakuan midnight feeding). Parameter yang diamati yaitu feed intake, pertambahan bobot badan, dan FCR. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Analisis Sidik Ragam (ANOVA) pada taraf 5%. Data yang berbeda nyata diuji lanjut dengan Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0.05) pada feed intake, pertambahan bobot badan, dan FCR ayam kampung.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the morphometric changes of the Joper chicken atthe age 0–3 weeks, the genetic correlation of cross-breeding between domestic cock and purebreedlaying hens, and the morphometric measurement data of the Joper chicken 0–3 weeks old. Dataanalysis uses descriptive analysis. Research results have shown that the growth of Joper chickens aged0–3 weeks has doubled every week. The average of all measurements is body weight (107,5 ± 87,42g), beak length (1,2 ± 0,58 cm), body length (7,1 ± 1,69 cm), height (15,6 ± 6,25 cm), wing length (7,3± 2,35 cm), longest finger length (2,8 ± 0,85 cm), and chest size (10,9 ± 4,82 cm). The genetic correlationvalues between body weight and beak length (-1.314), body weight with body length (-0.029), bodyweight with body height (-0.048), body weight with wing-length (-0.029), weight with height (-0.048),weight with length (-0.014), weight with longest finger-length (-0.08), and weight-length (-0.08).and witha chest ring (-0.038).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan potensi pengembangan sapi potong, memetakan sebaran potensi lumbung pakan, dan mengkaji potensi pakan dapat digunakan untuk menghitung kapasitas daya tampung ternak perkecamatan di Kabupaten Magelang. Ruang lingkup ini meliputi wilayah Kabupaten Magelang. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan analisis laju pertumbuhan populasi, analisis potensi pakan, analisis tampung wilayah, dan analisis komoditas basis. Variabel yang diukur pada penelitian ini yaitu kecamatan potensi pengembangan sapi potong, kecamatan sebaran potensi pusat atau penyimpan pakan, dan kecamatan sebaran potensi pengembangan sapi potong dan lumbung pakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecamatan yang mempunyai potensi pengembangan sapi potong terdapat pada 9 kecamatan. Kecamatan dengan potensi lokasi pusat pakan sapi potong terdapat pada 11 Kecamatan. Wilayah prioritas satu meliputi 10 wilayah, wilayah prioritas dua meliputi 8 wilayah, dan wilayah prioritas tiga meliputi 3 wilayah.

Abstract

Arabic chicken is one of the local chickens that have superior productivity. Government efforts to continue increasing livestock productivity and genetic quality can be carried out through breeding programs based on genetic parameters, including heritability. Research on estimating heritability in Arabic chickens has never been reported at the BPBTNR Maron Working Unit. This research aims to determine the heritability of Arabic chicken's body weight, egg weight, and egg index. The sample used was 50 healthy Arabian chickens aged ten months. The eggs used came from matings between Arab hens and Arab hens with a ratio of 1:5, namely ten males and 50 females. Chickens and eggs were measured using digital scales and calipers. The statistical method used is ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) analysis followed by descriptive analysis. Heritability values were calculated using the half-sibling correlation method (paternal half sibling correlation). The results showed that the average body weight, egg weight and egg index in the Maron Chicken Satker BPBTNR, Temanggung were 1,270 ± 0.21 g, 45.37 ± 3.68 g and 76.10 ± 3.27, respectively. Meanwhile, the heritability value of the body weight of Arabic chickens was classified as moderate (0.145 ± 0.344), egg weight (0.355 ± 0.361) and egg index (0.464 ± 0.371) was classified as high. Keywords: arabic chicken, heritability, average value
