Abstract

This research is conducted using 4 lines data with 750 meters in length. Tomography resistivity with Wenner-Schlumberger configuration is used as this research methodology to take the data with a = 50 meters and n=1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Resistivitymeter OYO 2119C McOHM-ELmodel is used as the instrument. Furthermore, the data is processed with two softwares; Res2Dinv ver. 3.56.22 to get 2D resistivity section and RockWork16to make 3D model of the site. The underground river’s chamber is made by hollow carbonate rocks with the resistivity of >412 Ωmand 117,6 Ωm – 412 Ωm for limestone’s resistivity as its capsrock. Researching to the depth of 173 meters, underground rivers are shown in the line 2 in the depth of 65 to 134 meters, 65 to 173 meters in the line 3, and in the cross section of line 3 and line 4. While in the first trajectory, another chamber is found within the depth of 12.5 to 40 meters. It is expected that the underground river is flowing to the south because of the chamber in third and fourth trajectory are lower than second trajectory.

Abstract

Exploration of the spread of iron sand on the eastern coastal of Binangun District in Cilacap Regency has been conducted using the magnetic surveys. The magnetic data acquisition was conducted in April 2017. The total magnetic field data obtained is processed, so that can be obtained the local magnetic anomaly data. The modeling of the local magnetic anomaly data is performed on the trajectory of AB that extending from the position point of 109,274698° E and 7.686620° S to 109.2296195° E and 7.689099° S so that obtained various model of the subsurface anomalous objects. Interpretation on the subsurface anomalous objects is done to estimate the types of rocks and their formations based on the magnetic susceptibility value of each object which supported by the geological information of the research area. Based on the interpretation results to be obtained two layers of subsurface rocks that can be estimated as the iron sand that coexists with silt dan clay derived from the alluvium formation. The first rock has a length of 1238.2 meters, a depth of 1.709 – 20.513 meters, and a magnetic susceptibility value of 0.0183 cgs unit. The second rock has a length of 643.055 meters, a depth of 16.524 – 34.188 meters, and a magnetic susceptibility value of 0.0174 cgs unit. The results of this research are also supported by the results of geoelectric data interpretation, where the iron sand that coexists with silt and clay is found at a depth of 9.42 – 19.48 meters with a resistivity value of 52.99 Ωm at Geo-1 point; and a depth of 10.56 – 22.20 meters with resistivity value of 49,03 Ωm at Geo-2 point. Based on the results of of this research, the eastern coastal area of Binangun District is estimated to contain potentially iron ore and economically is a prospect for exploitation.

Abstract

The earthquake that occurred in the Region of Yogyakarta caused by fault activity on the surface, such as Opak-Oyo Fault, Dengkeng Fault, Menoreh Fault  and plate tectonic activity in South of Java. Opak-Oyo fault activity reflected from epicenter distribution and earthquake energy. This research aims to analyze the earthquake energy which has epicenter around the Opak-Oyo Fault in spatial and temporal. Based on earthquake catalog from 2008 – 2016, there were 66 earthquake with 11 significant event. Epicenter distribution reflected in seismicity map and for the tectonic parameter use least square method. Seismicity map of Opak Oyo Fault area show that distribution of epicenter in the East and Southeast of fault line with the calculation result of b value by least square method is 0.4. In temporal, there is an increasing trend of events in 2008-2015 and decline trend of earthquake in 2015- 2017. Earthquake energy that released in Opak Oyo Fault area has varies value about 1x105.2 – 1x1012joules. Meanwhile, the energy that associated with the existence of Opak Fault Lines has value between 1x105.2 – 1x109.6 Joule with 10-20 km of hypocenter. The distribution energy has similar pattern with geological formations in that area.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Motor Gasoline (MOGAS) that serves as modifiers thermal energy into mechanical energy with a Research Octane Number (RON) of 91 was produced by mixing (blending) of two components. RON are high is one of MOGAS specifications needed for good engine performance. To obtain a MOGAS with high RON usually needs additional materials, chemical components. In this work we don’t need any additional materials to increasing the RON. In the field of oil and gas blending method is a method that is widely used to acquire new products that are superior and achieve quality standards. The components used in blending these are products with a value of RON 88 and 92. Examination of specific gravity (ASTMD-1298) was conducted to obtain specific gravity (SG) and temperature observations (T), while the ASTMD-86 distillation examination was conducted to determine the components in materials. The results showed that the product specifications in accordance with the existing products on the market. The acquisition of distillate reached 95% with losses of about 3.9%, and the residue of 1.1%.
