The journal is pursues the academic exploration on Islamic education discourses in Southeast Asian schools, colleges, universities, and other Islamic educational institutions such as pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools). The journal promotes empirical research and theory relevant to Islamic affiliated educational institutions. The topics of the journal cover the micro, meso, and macro levels of Islamic education such as the philosophy of Islamic education, Islamic school leadership, and the politics of Islamic education. The journal is published twice a year in June and December. It was firstly published in 2013 (printed edition). Since Vol. 3, Issue 2 (December 2015), it has migrated gradually to an electronic journal system (Open Access). It is now a fully online journal, and since Vol. 8, No. 2 (December 2019) it only accepts manuscript submissions written in English or Arabic.

Abstract

Social Relation Pattern of College Activists, between ideal and reality is the existence of very interesting problem to investigate which has something to do with ghairu mah{d{ah (common ritual) because of the following factors:   there are some students who less understand Islamic principles in comprehensive way, some students are less creative in packaging of Islamic activities; some students are less interested in Islamic Studies at campus and some others have less commitment in the implementation of Islamic values. Problem of this research is how is the religious social relation pattern of college activists in Samarinda? and what are the factors to affect religious social relation pattern of college activists in Samarinda? This case study research uses qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection technique was done by using observation, interview, and documentation. Data of this research is analyzed by using triangulation. It was done by reduction through induction and deduction process of observation transcripts, interview, and documentation of individual case, and it is compared in cross case analysis in discussion, and it was concluded as a research finding. This research reveals two conclusions. Firstly, religious social relation pattern of college activists in Samarinda of Students’ Executive Council of State Islamic Institute of Samarinda and Students’ Executive Council KM of Mulawarman University Samarinda individually are internal board management;  external board management; peoples who gives contributions to the college; people who play role in the family; influencial people in society. In terms of organization, to develop religion, establish cooperation with attitude and develop relevant programs. Secondly, factors which affect religious social relation pattern of college activists in Samarinda of Students’ Executive Council of State Islamic Institute of Samarinda and Students’ Executive Council KM of Mulawarman University Samarinda are Islamic and general education factor; family and environment factor, awareness factor, and social media factor.

Abstract

Guidance services in schools are one way to motivate student learning in schools, therefore guidance programs must always be owned or run in every educational unit. Likewise the role of parents at home in terms of supervision of learning for children, with environmental conditions in industrial estates, busy parents and lack of supervision, which greatly influences their motivation to learn. But among the teachers and parents, there are some who have carried out tutoring and supervision of their children. This study aims to determine the effect of tutoring and parental supervision together (simultaneous) on students' motivation to study in Public Elementary Schools in Tenggarong industrial area. This research is a Field Work Recearch (field research) with a quantitative / statistical approach with a population of 107 students of class V and VI of State Elementary School 006 and 016 Tenggarong with a sample of 84 respondents obtained from sampling using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling technique. The instrument used in the form of a questionnaire / questionnaire and the data analysis technique used is the F test to determine the effect of variables simultaneously. Based on the data from the results of the calculation obtained from the results of the F count test = 27.015> F table = 3.12, at a significant level obtained 0,000 <0.05 has a contribution of 40% so that it can be said that there is a significant influence of tutoring and supervision of parents simultaneously students' motivation to study in Public Elementary Schools in Tenggarong industrial area.
