Abstract

The research aimsto discover (i) What is the meaning of Mabbaca Doang to the people in Benteng Sawitto Village of Paleteang Sub-district in Pinrang District? (ii) How is the tradition of Mabbaca Doang as the adhesive of social cohesion to the people in Benteng Sawitto Village of Paleteang Sub-district in Pinrang District? (iii) How is the existence of Mabbaca Doang tradidition in the middle of modernization to the people in Benteng Sawitto Village of Paleteang Sub-district in Pinrang District?. The informants of the research were chosen by using Purposive Sampling technique with the criteria, namely the people of Benteng Sawitto Village, domicile period minimally 10 years, permently settled and ever performed Mabbaca Doang tradition. The research employed qualitative approach, namely the description about a condition objectively. The data were collect through observation, interview, and documentation. The results of the research revel that (i) Mabbaca Doang tradition for the people in Benteng Sawitto Village of Paleteang Sub-district in Pinrang District means as praying to God as thankfulness for the fortune and praying for the family who already passed away as well as Tulabala (Repellent of Misfortune). The ways the people performed are by preparing food, incense, calling Gurru’Katte and inviting guest to pray and eat together, (ii) Mabbaca Doang tradition is as the adhesive of social cohesion. However, there is a difference of social cohesion before and after modernisation, namely the change in the cooperation aspect in preparing Mabbaca Doang, the weaken of direct hospitality among family and community, the interaction only occurred in short time and people tends to attend Mabbaca Doang event if it is profitable for them, (iii) Mabbaca Doang tradition in modern era is still exist. However, there are changes of values in the implementation because of the factors such as education, economy, an religion to the people in Benteng Sawitto Village of Paleteang Sub-district in Pinrang District

Abstract

This research aims to reveal descriptively the acculturation process that occurs between the people of Java Transmigrants and the Paser community and the factors that affect the acculturation of the people of Java Transmigrants and the Paser community. This research uses qualitative approach with data collection technique through observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that the acculturation process between Paser community and Javanese transmigrants through interaction process included interaction of religion, language, culture and education, then social change process and competition process. Factors affecting acculturation are internal and external factors. Internal factors through population growth and competition. External factors through the spread of culture. Paser community and Javanese transmigrant community have acculturated due to good interaction so that the acculturation process can run, bringing together Paser and Javanese culture in enriching the culture in this area to realize the integration and appreciation, respecting intercultural and inter-ethnic in Paser District.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the role of principal in the management of teacher learning in the subjects of IPS SD and the management of teacher learning in the subjects of IPS SD. The type of research is qualitative descriptive and place of research in elementary school subdistrict of Rappocini city of Makassar. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation with analysis technique through data reduction, data display, and simultaneous data verification. The results show that in the learning management in primary school the principal acts as education, manager, administrator, supervisor, leader, innovator, motivator and entrepreneur. The principal plays an important role in mobilizing teachers in optimizing their function as managers in the classroom. As the principal in teacher learning management in this case planning supervision on teacher performance starting from learning management planning of IPS, implementation of learning, supervision of evaluation and follow up. The teacher acts as a manager in a class that is responsible for managing learning and learning outcomes. The learning management of IPS subjects includes planning, organizing, controlling (guiding) activities and evaluating activities related to the learning process of students. The management of teachers in IPS lessons runs the curriculum, IPS learning syllabus, learning implementation plan, method, IPS learning strategy, and evaluation of social studies and teaching materials

Abstract

Therfor, the study aims at examining (i) the factors which cause transgender has deviant behavior, (ii) the adaptation process of transgender in Makassar city, (iii) the adaptation pattern of organized transgender that has potential in social reproduction. The type of this study is qualitative research with descriptive. The site of the study was in Manggala subdistrict of Makassar city. The informants of the study consisted of transgender, parents of transgender, public, and government with the total of 10 people. Data was collected by employing interview, observation, and documentation. Data was analyzed by conduction data reduction, data presentation, and verivication or conclusion. The result of the study indicates that the adaptation of transgender in Makassar city of Manggala subdistrict is through occupation or their profession. They cover their deviant behavior and the society can accept their existence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fenomena silariang yang ada di kelurahan Balang Baru, fenomena silariang berubah bentuk menjadi fenomena annyala, sebagian besar pelaku annyala ini diketahui sebagai pasangan dengan latar belakang ekonomi dibawah serta tingkat pendididkan yang rendah, inilah yang menjadi tujuan dari penelitian ini, (i) untuk mengetahui fenomena silariang yang terjadi pada masyarakat miskin di kelurahan Balang Baru, terhadap apa yang dipahami oleh masyarakat tersebut (ii) untuk mengetahui penyebab dari banyaknya realitas sosial ini, bagaimana mayarakat miskin mengkonstruksinya ke dalam individu dan (iii) untuk mengetahui dampak-dampak sosial yang ditimbulkan hubungannya dengan nilai-nilai kemasyarakatan yang ada di kelurahan tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adlah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari (i) para pelaku silariang, (ii) keluarga pelaku silariang dan (iii) masyarakat miskin di lingkungan Kelurahan Balang Baru. Teknik pengumpulan data  dalam penelitian ini  dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara secara mendalam, serta melakukan triagulasi cek, dari hasil tersebut dilakukan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.           Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan sosial ikut merubah nilai-nilai yang ada pada realitas  silariang yang terjadi pada masyarakat miskin di Kelurahan Balang Baru Makassar ini, silariang telah mengalami perubahan yang berdampak pada nilai dan kondisi sosial masyarakat lingkungan tersebut, silariang telah dikontruksi menjadi alat bagi masyarakat miskin di kelurahan ini untuk dapat menghindarkan diri dari kewajiban-kewajiban adat pernikahan yang dianggap sudah tidak sesuai dan sinkron lagi dengan kondisi kemiskinan mereka.

Abstract

. The objectives of the study are to examine (i) the social changing process of the people before and after the establishment of marble mining factory, (ii) the social impacts caused by marble mining industry on social life of the people. The study is qualitative research conducted at Mangilu village in Bungoro subdistrict of Pangkajene dan Kepulauan district. The informants were the people at Mangilu village, factory employes, and local government of Mangilu village. File was collected by employing interview, observation, and documentation. File was analyzed by conducting, file reduction, file presentation, and verification or conclusion drawing. The result of the study reveal that the impacts cause by the marble mining factory toward the people of Mangilu village are in positive and negative impacts. The positive impacts can be seen from the education dimension and economy; whereas the negative impacts are in environment and health of the at Mangilu village.

Abstract

In south Sulawesi, particularly in Maros district, there is one of traditional house known as Balla Lompoa which is located in Kassi Kebo in Maros district. The traditional house is one of heritage of Marusu King which still stands firmly and is maintained well by the descendants of the king who are still alive and the local government, and becomes one of tourists’ destinations in Maros district, besides other places interest such as Leang-leang and Bantimurung. The research aims to discover the historical background of Marusu Kingdom in Maros district, the condition of Balla Lompoa Kakaraengang Marusu Kassi Kebo traditional house in Maros district, and the role and function of Balla Lompoa was descriptive historical research which employed qualitative approach. The qualititative approach and analysis technique was conducted in for stages. The results of the research reveal that (1) the history of Marusu Kingdom was started with Tumanurung concept with the first King was Karaeng Loe ri Pakere and the last king was Andi Muhammad Tajudding daeng Masiga (1944-1963). As time went by, the government system in Maros was also developed and experienced the changes. “Gementschap Culture” was formulated in a form of “District”, (2) Balla Lompoa Traditional House was the Palace of Marusu Kingdom which also became hundreds of years old and is one of cultural heritages needed to be preserved in Maros district and has a collection of 300 kinds of King’s relics and Kakaraengang Marusu, (3) the role of Balla Lompoa Kassi Kebo traditional house is not only as the facility for the implementation of traditional ceremony or as the residence of Karaeng and his family, but also a place for holding a meeting for the royal family.

Abstract

This research aims at (i) to determine the interactions that occur in detention Enrekang and (ii) guidance system that were made by the inmates in prison Class II B Enrekang. Type of study used in this study is a qualitative research. Subject of the study consisted of (i) the inmates, (ii) Prison officers and (iii) community. In this research, using the technique of sampling with purposive sampling method. Mechanical determination of informants consisting of of inmates who had almost finished his incarceration, inmates are trusted and given responsibility by the officials Prison, the heads of employees crease class II B Enrekang, People who are in the neighborhood of former prisoners. Data collection techniques in this study, observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of this research data is through triangulation and member checks. data analysis techniques in the study include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. These results indicate that the interaction of inmates that exists in the crease class II B EnrekangEnrekang , fueled by three factors, namely, factors imitation, suggestion, sympathy, and empathy. In coaching system that occurs in the crease class II B Enrekang district includes development of moral education and fostering creativity
