Abstract

Elementary school students' skills in mastering mathematics (numeracy literacy) still need to be higher; most are below the minimum ability standard. This research aims to determine the ability of fifth-grade elementary school students to understand fractions completely through a realistic mathematics learning approach. The research method used utilizes Kurt Lewin's classroom action research. The research results illustrate that a realistic mathematics learning approach can increase the strengthening of mathematical skills simultaneously, especially in mastering the skills of understanding fractions. Thus, realistic mathematics learning is an innovative and effective way to strengthen students' abilities in mathematics subjects. Teachers are asked to systematically and massively utilize this approach in their learning practices for the following purposes.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum, as the latest innovation in the world of Indonesian education, raises a number of problems in the process of implementing it in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, especially for teachers. This article analyzes the problems that arise, especially related to curriculum planning and organization. The method used is a descriptive survey, data were collected from teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Trenggalek. The results showed that the majority of respondents had a lack of understanding of the independent curriculum, difficulties in preparing documents and learning tools for the independent curriculum, inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Lack of participation in intensive training and technical guidance results in a lack of understanding of the substance of the curriculum being the main factor behind this problem. In the face of these challenges, a number of alternative solutions were proposed, including intensive training, comparative studies, teacher working groups, and improved technological facilities and infrastructure

Abstract

The paper examined the utilisation of audiovisual aids in teaching and learning business studies in junior secondary schools in the Ojo local government area of Lagos State, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive research design of survey type. A sample of 60 teachers was selected purposively. data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics to answer research questions, while a t-test was used to analyse the hypotheses. The finding revealed a significant difference between teachers’ qualifications, gender, and availability of audiovisual aids and their use by business studies teachers in secondary schools in Lagos State. Based on the findings, it was recommended, among others, that the government give more priority to the enhancement of teachers' job performance through adequate provision of audiovisual instructional aids, and principals should supervise teachers in the classroom to ensure compliance with the use of available audiovisual instructional aids.

Abstract

Differential Item Functioning poses a threat to test fairness and validity in educational assessments. To this end, this study probes the incidence of DIF in the Senior School Certificate Agricultural Science Examination (SSCASE) across school locations in Southwestern Nigeria. It determined the magnitude of DIF using item parameters in SSCASE. The study applies one, two and three-parameter logistic models to analyze the dichotomous data responses of 818 randomly selected students from urban and rural locations. The ex-post facto design adopted the 2015 National Examination Council SSCE in Agricultural Science as its instrument (α =0.887) in this study. The study population comprised SSCE candidates from Osun, Ondo, and Oyo. The results showed the magnitude of DIF in SSCASE was large and moderate (1PLM=0.52 significant DIF, 2PLM=0.45 moderate DIF, 3PLM=0.47 moderate DIF) across school locations. The study concluded that 1, 2 and 3 PLMs can produce fair items in SSCASE.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is currently crucial to children's knowledge acquisition. As a result, several study have been conducted to improve their reading comprehension skills. Furthermore, the purpose of this research is to investigate how it is enhanced in primary schools and ditermine current trends in the field. This is a systematic literature review that employed ERIC, PubMed, and Science Direct as databases. It gathered articles published in 2023. Article filtration method employed PRISMA stages. Out of 162 articles retrieved, 9 articles were considered relevant. The results stated that instructors use a variety of approaches, strategies, and school programs to increase students' reading comprehension. Strategies and media still remains dominant in this field and they preferably integrate technology into the teachig and learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' higher order thinking skills (HOTS) through the use of interactive video learning media in project-based learning at SDN Junrejo 2, Batu City. This class action research was conducted in two cycles, the research shows that interactive video facilitates the delivery of information so that in its application it makes it easier for students to understand the material. The importance of the role of educators in providing guidance and support was revealed in helping students in the course of learning and developing higher order thinking skills. The process of improving HOTS requires time, adaptation to the new learning model, and continuous mentoring. With the right strategy, the use of technology in learning can bring positive changes in the quality of education.

Abstract

The development and advancement of technology has many positive and negative impacts and changes in various fields, especially in the field of education in Indonesia. This also raises new challenges from the many challenges that already exist. in the era of globalization now the spread of information is very fast, one of which is through internet websites, this must be utilized properly and maximally for the world of education, with many benefits expected to make it easier for students to receive information to add insight and enrichment of material, thus the media used for students to learn must also develop creatively and innovatively. The purpose of this research is to develop website-based learning media in phase B IPAS subjects.

Abstract

The Pancasila student profile has six basic principles which refer to Pancasila values. One of the themes implemented for the project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile is the theme of local wisdom, where the implementation aims to enable students to increase and develop potential based on local wisdom values ​​to support their achievement. Pancasila Student Profile. The method used in this research process is descriptive qualitative with stages of observation methods in schools, conducting interviews with homeroom teachers and school principals, as well as documentation to fulfil data completeness. The data instruments are a list of questions on the questionnaire and interview sheet. With this research, it is hoped that schools can implement projects to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students to the maximum.

Abstract

The development of science and technology is challenge for educators to continue create new innovations in learning process. The purpose of this research is develop and produce Webtoon based E-Comic that is feasible medium for learning IPAS on the material my dear earth my poor earth grade V elementary school. The research model in this study uses the 4D, namely: Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. The subjects in this study were material experts, linguists, media experts, teachers and students. The results feasibility analysis based on experts obtained 91% in very good category, the practicality analysis obtained 89% in very practical category, and the effectiveness analysis obtained an average of 95% in very effective category. Based on the results, the Webtoon based E-Comic learning media on the material my dear earth my poor earth IPAS content that has been developed using the 4D model is very feasible to use.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to implement the results of the E-Module and determine the media development, feasibility and practicality of the E-Module. The type of research used in this research is the ADDIE development model. The subjects of this research were teachers and students of class VI using the questionnaire method with data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and documentation. The research results showed that the E-Module was declared very feasible based on media experts at 97.5%, material experts at 92.5% and language experts at 95.8% so that the learning media was suitable for testing. The practicality test given by the teacher obtained 94.5%, 95.1% for students in small groups and 92.8%
