Data is collected from annual report and websites of Islamic banks operating in countries included in the list of countries have the most developed Islamic finance market in the world for the period 2014-2017 by performing a content analysis and regression test. This study found that the level of transparency of risk information in Islamic banks is still quite low, most Islamic banks disclose less than 60% of the risk information transparency index items in Islamic banks. In addition, there are no Islamic banks that disclose all information in the index and the highest risk information transparency score is 80.65. Abstract

The aim of this study is to test whether there is an underpricing phenomenon within the Hot Market period in Indonesian public companies in 2018. Among 56 companies which conducted IPOs, our descriptive statistical analysis shows 53 companies experienced underpricing and the rest experienced overpricing. We used nonparametric statistic to calculate the average of initial return, and multiple linear regression to test the effect of independent variables on the initial return. The result shows that the underpricing phenomenon occurred in IPO performance in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the results of hypothesis testing show that the company’s age and the underwriter’s reputation had no effect on initial return, while company’s size and market sentiment show a significant negative effect on initial return.

Abstract

IPO underpricing is an example of anomalous behavior in capital market. Stock price in primary market tends to very low and then increases signifinactly in adjacent secondary market.  If we believe that stock issuer would not leave the money on the table, so this anomaly must come from investors’ irrational behavior or lack of information in secondary market. Accounting conservatism plays an important role in reporting a fair financial condition which is basic information for investor to set fair stock price. Accounting conservatism gives a strong signal to market participant that the company always exposes real dan honest its financial performance so gives no room for speculation of its stock price in the market. However, mispricing in secondary market is not only affected by speculative behavior but also herding behavior where retail uninformed investors tend to follow market leader and create a speculative stock price wave. This study show that accounting conservatism and herding behavior are crucial factor in understanding contradicting behavior in primary and secondary market in Indonesia Stock Exchanges
