<![CDATA[Abstract. Corruption is a crucial problem as if there was never a solution. The impact of criminal acts of corruption on the state can lead to the misery of its people, can undermine economic growth, can exacerbate poverty and political instability. With the danger caused by the crime of corruption, a discourse emerged on the application of the death penalty for perpetrators of criminal acts of corruption to give a deterrent effect to the perpetrators. However, the discourse was not approved by the human rights activists on the grounds that the death penalty had no connection with deterrent effect, but instead the death penalty had a negative impact on the country. The purpose of this article is to examine the biblical view of the death penalty discourse on corruptors. The research method used to achieve these goals was through literature study and biblical interpretation. The results showed that corruption was a major crime according to the Bible and therefore the death penalty deserves to be applied. Death sentences against corruptors was not on contrary to love, and on the other hand show the holiness of God who does not compromise to sin.Abstrak. Tindak pidana korupsi menjadi masalah krusial yang seolah-olah tidak pernah ada penyelesaiannya. Dampak tindak pidana korupsi bagi negara dapat menimbulkan kesengsaraan rakyatnya, dapat meruntuhkan pertumbuhan ekonomi, dapat memperburuk kemiskinan dan ketidakstabilan politik. Dengan adanya bahaya yang diakibatkan tindak pidana korupsi tersebut, maka muncul wacana penerapan hukuman mati bagi pelaku tindak pidana korupsi untuk memberikan efek jera bagi pelakunya. Namun demikian, wacana tersebut tidak disetujui oleh kelompok pegiat HAM dengan alasan hukuman mati tidak memiliki hubungan dengan kejeraan, tetapi sebaliknya hukuman mati justru berdampak buruk pada negara. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengkaji pandangan Alkitab terhadap wacana hukuman mati terhadap koruptor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut adalah melalui studi pustaka dan tafsiran Alkitab. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa korupsi adalah termasuk kejahatan besar menurut Alkitab dan oleh karenanya hukuman mati patut untuk diterapkan. Hukuman mati terahdap koruptor tidak bertentangan dengan kasih, dan malah sebaliknya menunjukkan kekudusan Allah yang tidak berkompromi terhadap dosa.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. Therapeutic is a branch of genetical engineering technology that handles the healing of genetical diseases. The way to handle it is by manipulating human stem cell. Because it was related in trying to manipulate human genes, it raised the question of whether this technology was an attempt to seize God's role of life and death. This study aims to provide answers and at the same time determine the position of the Christian faith towards therapeutics through biblical studies based on creatio continua and imago Dei concept. Through this study, it was concluded that therapeutic is a space for human effort in carrying out their duties as a co-worker of God to improve the imperfection of creation.Abstrak. Terapetik adalah salah satu cabang dari teknologi rekayasa genetika yang menangani penyembuhan penyakit genetif. Cara penanganannya adalah dengan memanipulasi stem cell manusia. Oleh karena berkaitan dengan usaha memanipulasi gen manusia, maka menimbulkan pertanyaan apakah teknologi ini adalah upaya merampas peran Allah atas kehidupan dan kematian. Kajian dalam artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan jawaban dan sekaligus menentukan posisi iman Kristen terhadap terapetik melalui kajian biblika atas prinsip creatio continua dan imago Dei. Melalui kajian tersebut ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pada batas tertentu terapetik adalah ruang bagi upaya manusia dalam melaksanakan tugasnya sebagai rekan sekerja Allah untuk memperbaiki ketidaksempurnaan ciptaan.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. This study aimed to find solutions to the problems of free association among teenagers starting from theological and sociological analysis. In conducting this study the author used a literature study method on various previous thoughts and studies that have been carried out. The results obtained from this study were that teenagers are often ignored by the church. The church often only pays attention to adult problems. Therefore, in order to overcome the problem of teenagers free association, good cooperation is needed between parents, the church, the government, and the community.Abstrak. Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk mengupayakan solusi dari permasalahan pergaulan bebas di kalangan remaja dengan berangkat dari analisis secara teologis dan sosiologis. Dalam melakukan kajian ini penulis menggunakan metode studi pustaka terhadap berbagai pemikiran dan kajian terdahulu yang pernah dilakukan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa remaja seringkali diabaikan oleh gereja. Gereja sering hanya menaruh perhatian besar kepada masalah-masalah orang dewasa. Oleh karena itu, dalam rangka mengatasi persoalan pergaulan bebas remaja tersebut diperlukan kerjasama yang baik antara orang tua, gereja, pemerintah, maupun masyarakat.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. This article was a biblical analysis of the awareness of God through suffering in the book of Job chapter 1 and 2. The subject’s very important to be reviewed in considering the context of the suffering of believers at present. The aim of this biblical analysis was not only touching theological dimension, but ultimately to change the hypothetical into the realm of practical life, where suffering believers could gain the power of faith. The research method used in this study was the method of narrative analysis or narrative criticism of Job chapter 1 and 2. Through this study it could be concluded that God is sovereign over everything and no incident happens by chance, but there is a plan of God in it. Therefore, reflecting on Job's experience, it is important to carry out self-reflection as well as surrender so that in the end it does not experience despair in the midst of suffering.Abstrak. Tulisan ini merupakan sebuah analisis biblikal tentang kesadaran akan Allah melalui penderitaan di dalam kitab Ayub pasal 1 dan 2. Pokok bahasan ini sangat penting untuk dikaji kembali dengan mempertimbangkan konteks penderitaan orang percaya di masa kini. Tujuan analisis biblikal ini diharapkan tidak hanya menyentuh dimensi teologis, tetapi pada akhirnya mengubah yang hipotetis ke dalam lingkup kehidupan praktis, di mana orang-orang percaya yang menderita dapat beroleh kekuatan iman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah metode analisis naratif atau kritik naratif terhadap Ayub pasal 1 dan 2. Melalui kajian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Allah berdaulat atas segala sesuatu dan tidak ada peristiwa yang terjadi secara kebetulan, tapi ada rencana Tuhan di dalamnya. Oleh karenanya, bercermin dari pengalaman Ayub tersebut, penting melakukan refleksi diri dan sekaligus penyerahan diri sehingga pada akhirnya tidak mengalami keputusasaan di tengah penderitaan.]]>

This study aimed to prove the increasing of solidarity and learning outcomes in the class of Christian Religious Education and Good Character through the use of the graphical media “Monas Mama.” The strategy in this research was carried out through 2 moderate cycles to improve the attitude of solidarity and learning outcomes using the graphic media “Monas Mama.” The results obtained from this study that through the use of the graphic media “Monas Mama” there was an increase in student solidarity and student learning outcomes. From the results it could be concluded that the use of graphic media not only could stimulate students’ cognitive, but could also help foster students' character.Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuktikan adanya peningkatan sikap solidaritas dan hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Kristen dan Budi Pekerti melalui penggunaan media grafis “Monas Mama”. Strategi dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui 2 siklus sedang untuk meningkatkan sikap solidaritas dan hasil belajar menggunakan media grafis “Monas Mama”. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini bahwa melalui penggunaan media grafis ”Monas Mama” terjadi peningkatan sikap solidaritas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. Dari hasil penelitian ini maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media grafis tidak hanya dapat merangsang peningkatan aspek kognitif siswa, namun juga dapat membantu menumbuhkan budi pekerti siswa.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. This research aimed to describe Portfolio-Based Instruction (PBI) in improving student learning responsibility at Theological Seminary. This research used qualitative and literature study technic. This research brought about the conclusion when PBI applied by consider the compatibility of study materials and purposes of learning than PBI can improves student learning responsibility at Theological Seminary.Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pendekatan model pembelajaran berbasis portofolio (MPBP) dalam meningkatkan tanggung jawab belajar mahasiswa di Sekolah Tinggi Teologi (STT). Penelitian menggunakan jenis kualitatif yang bersifat studi pustaka (library research). <![CDATA[Abstract. Disruption of terrorism was a serious thing that threatens the life of nationalism in Indonesia. This disorder must be responded quickly and precisely as soon as possible. This article aimed to formulate one of the steps that could be taken, namely by building relevant Christian political ethics. The method used was descriptive analysis of various related literature that addresses this theme. In conclusion, Christian political ethics that have to be practiced by Christians is to develop an open understanding of "the other", including developing neighbouring theology.Abstrak. Gangguan terorisme merupakan hal yang serius mengancam kehidupan berbangsa di Indonesia. Gangguan ini harus direspon dengan cepat dan tepat sesegera mungkin. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan salah satu langkah yang bisa dilakukan yakni dengan membangun etika politik Kristen yang relevan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis pada berbagai literaur terkait yang membahas tema ini. <![CDATA[The terminology of the economic wealth is not actually related to the poor in terms of poverty and wealth in the Bible. The terminology of wealth and poverty is not a matter of relationship to the business or economy, but they are rather to have relationships to seek the righteousness of God. Thus, one should clarify the meaning of wealth and poverty in order to seek the real meaning of the Old Testament theology. The eras of Nomadic to Post Exilic give the idea of how God dealt with the people of God in term of sinful nature. It is not the matter of the economic situation, but it is blessedness for the people who seek Him with all their heart. Nomadic era gives an idea of how God gives the promise land to the people of Israel as long as they can keep the covenant. However, throughout the history the Israelites never entered into the promise land, except Caleb and Joshua. The picture of Babylonia is the wrath of God to the people of Israel who never listen to the command of God. In conclusion, seeking God with full heart will find ‘rest’ forever and keep the promise forever more. Keeping the righteousness of God will bring justice to the poor and let the poverty be away from the poor.]]>
