Abstract

Abstrak Membran nilon merupakan lapisan semipermeabel yang terbuat dari jenis polimer poliamida untuk memisahkan partikel tertentu dari larutannya. Pada artikel ini, membran nilon berperan sebagai filter untuk penjernihan nira tebu dengan mengkaji kinerja, efektivitas, dan efisiensi membran. Penelitian dilakukan dengan sistem aliran dead-end pada proses ultrafiltrasi menggunakan empat tekanan transmembran yang berbeda yaitu 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, dan 2.5 bar. Konsentrasi nira tebu sebelum dan sesudah proses ultrafiltrasi dikarakterisasi menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Membran nilon dengan variasi massa 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, dan 6.5 gram, menunjukkan fluks air yang sesuai pada rentang 15 – 38 L/m2.jam.bar pada tekanan transmembran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa membran nilon yang memiliki kinerja paling baik adalah membran dengan massa benang nilon 4.5 gram karena memiliki nilai fluks paling besar dan nilai koefisien rejeksi paling kecil. Membran dengan massa benang nilon 6.5 gram memiliki efektivitas dan efisiensi penurunan sukrosa yang paling besar. Sedangkan membran dengan massa benang nilon 4.5 gram memiliki efektivitas dan efsiensi penurunan konsentrasi sukrosa yang paling rendah. Kata-kata kunci: membran nilon, nira tebu, kinerja membran, efektivitas, efisiensi. Abstract Nylon membrane is a semipermeable layer made of a type of polyamide polymer to separate certain particles from the solution. In this article, nylon membrane is presented as a filter for clarification of sugarcane juice concerning study on performance evaluation, effectiveness, and efficiency of the membrane. The experiments were conducted according to the principle of the dead-end in an ultrafiltration process using four different transmembrane pressures of 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 bar. The concentration of sugarcane juice before and after ultrafiltration process was characterized using UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. Nylon membranes, which consist of 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, and 6.5 gram various mass, showed matched water flux in the range of 15 – 38 L/m2.jam.bar at the transmembrane pressures. The results showed that the best performance nylon membrane was a nylon membrane with a mass of 4.5 gram nylon, because it has the largest flux and the smallest rejection coefficient. Nylon membrane with a mass of 6.5 gram has the biggest effectiveness and efficiency in the reduced of sucrose concentration. Meanwhile, nylon membrane with a mass of 4.5 gram has the lowest effectiveness and efficiency in the reduced of sucrose concentration. Abstract

Abstrak Pembuatan senyawa hidrosiapatit dari tulang kortek paha sapi dengan proses ekstraksi telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghilangkan senyawa organik pada tulang sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku graft tulang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kimia dengan merendam tulang di dalam larutan Natrium Hidroksida (NaOH). Pengaruh variasi konsentrasi dan waktu perendaman NaOH terhadap proses ekstraksi tulang dikaji. Variasi konsentrasi larutan yang digunakan adalah 1M, 2M dan 3M dengan waktu perendaman 30 menit, 60 menit, dan 90 menit di dalam autoklaf bertekanan 1,5 atm dan temperatur 121°C. Hasil rendaman dianalisa dengan FTIR dan menunjukan adanya puncak gugus fungsi zat anorganik P-O, CO3 2- , dan O-H menyerupai kandungan tulang manusia. Sampel yang direndam pada larutan NaOH pada konsentrasi 1M dan 2M dengan waktu perendaman 30 menit masih ditemukan gugus fungsi C-H, yang mengindikasikan bahwa serbuk hidroksiapatit masih mengandung material organik sehingga beresiko pada reaksi penolakan oleh tubuh manusia saat diimplan. Namun demikian, serbuk hidroksiapatit yang dihasilkan dengan perendaman pada konsentrasi 3M dengan waktu 30 menit sudah tidak mengandung unsur organik, sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku graft tulang. Kata-kata kunci: hidroksiapatit, kortek tulang sapi, Natrium Hidroksida, ekstraksi, graft tulang. Abstract The extraction of hydroxyapatite compounds from thigh bones cortex has been done. This research was aimed to remove the organic substances in the bones, so that it can be maintained as the raw material of a bone graft. The research employed a chemical method, the bone was soaked in the Natrium Hydroxide (NaOH) solution. The effect of various concentration and duration of bone's immersion in NaOH were also studied. The solution's various concentrations were 1M, 2M and 3M, therefore the various of immersion duration were 30 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes in a 1.5 atm autoclave at a temperature of 121o C. The immersion results were studied throughout FTIR. The results showed that there were some peaks of the inorganic P-O, CO3 2- and O-H substance function, correspond to a human bone characteristic. Samples which were immersed in the 1M and 2M of NaOH solution with duration of 30 minutes have yet a C-H functional group. It indicated that the hydroxyapatite powders have yet organic substances, so there is still a risk of rejection by the human body when it is implanted. However, the sample which was immersed in 3M of NaOH solution with duration of 30 minutes has no any organic substances, it can be used as the raw material of a bone graft. Abstract

Abstrak Telah dilakukan pencampuran nanopartikel emas dengan kuantum dot CdSe 618. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan nanopartikel emas terhadap intensitas emisi dan waktu peluruhan fotoluminesensi kuantum dot CdSe 618. Dalam 2 mL kuantum dot CdSe 618, ditambahkan nanopartikel emas sebanyak 40 µL, 80 µL, dan 120 µL. Pada setiap penambahan tersebut, dilakukan pengujian fotoluminesensi dan time-resolved photoluminescence, masing-masing untuk mengetahui intensitas emisi dan waktu peluruhan fotoluminesensi kuantum dot CdSe 618 setelah ditambahkan dengan nanopartikel emas. Dilakukan pula pengukuran terhadap rentang panjang gelombang absorpsi dari nanopartikel emas, beserta ukuran diameter partikel-partikelnya. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, intensitas emisi kuantum dot CdSe 618 setelah ditambahkan dengan nanopartikel emas menjadi lebih rendah, dan nilai waktu peluruhan fotoluminesensi menjadi lebih besar. Penurunan intensitas emisi dan peningkatan waktu peluruhan fotoluminesensi diakibatkan oleh kemunculan plasmon pada nanopartikel emas. Kata-kata kunci: nanopartikel emas, kuantum dot, fotoluminesensi. Abstract We have done the mixing of gold nanoparticles and CdSe 618 quantum dots. The purpose of this study is to see the influence of gold nanoparticles increment to emission intensity and photoluminescence decay time of CdSe 618 quantum dots. Into 2 mL of CdSe 618 quantum dots, we added gold nanoparticles as much as 40 µL, 80 µL, and 120 µL. At each adding, we did photoluminescence and time-resolved photoluminescence testings, to see emission intensity and photoluminescence time decay of CdSe 618 quantum dots after the adding of gold nanoparticles. We also did a measurement of absorption wavelength range of gold nanoparticles, along with diameter size of the particles. The results showed that, overall, the emission intensity of CdSe 618 quantum dots became lower after the adding of gold nanoparticles, and the value of photoluminescence decay time became bigger. The decrease of emission intensity and the increment of photoluminescence decay time were caused by the appearance of a plasmon at gold nanoparticles. Abstract

We have done the fabrication of two kinds of composite material the fillers that we used rub ash for one type of composite and the husk of rice for another, the matrix for both is resin. The resin - rub ash composite, the volume ratio of filler and matrix is 1:1, while in the resin - husk of rice composite we used three volume ratios, those are 1:1, 1:2, and 2:1. After the process of fabrication was done, we did TGA test and three points flexural test for every composite we fabricated. The results of TGA test show that the most significant weight decrease of resin - rub ash composite occurred at 390,29 ºC, while the resin - rub ash composite's most considerable weight decrease occurred at 399,86 ºC. The results of three points flexural test show that elasticity of resin - rub ash composite is 4,97 x 109 N/m2, while elasticity modulus of all kinds of the resin - husk of rice composite is in order of 108 N.m2 and 106 N/m2. Overall, we can conclude that the resin - husk of rice composite is more heatproof and more elastic than the resin - rub ash composite.

Abstract

Integrated Amplitude Versus Offset ( AVO), elastic seismic inversion and petrophysical analysis have been successfully applied to estimate the elastic parameters of the reservoir for a case study of the gas field in south Sumatera basin. This paper aims to have better understanding the petrophysical properties of the reservoir. The petrophysical analysis was carried out by performing routine formation evaluation that includes calculation of shale volume, porosity, and water saturation of basic well log data. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to evaluate the sensitivity parameters of the log for changing in lithology, porosity, and fluid content in the reservoir. For completing the availability of elastic parameter from well log data, shear wave logs were derived from Castagna’s mudrock line relationship. Further, P-impedance, S-impedance, VpVs ratio, LambdaRho (λρ), MuRho (μρ) and density(ρ) were then calculated through a Lambda-Mu-Rho (LMR) transformation. Prior to performing AVO analysis and elastic seismic inversion, super gather technique was applied to improve the reliability of pre-stack seismic data. Elastic seismic inversion was carried out to extract the lateral elastic properties to capture lithology and fluid changes in the reservoir. In addition, AVO analysis of pre-stacked data was applied to identify hydrocarbon-bearing sandstone at target zone. The petrophysical analysis shows that porosity versus density crossplot is able to distinguish sand-shale based on 34% shale volume cutoff, while LMR crossplot is able to delineate hydrocarbon zone at water saturation value under 65%. The predicted lateral elastic parameter shows slightly higher value compare to overlying layer.

Abstract

An optical absorbance study using Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer device has been conducted on graphene oxide (GO) in copper (Cu) ionic liquid using electrochemical exfoliation combined with a direct current (DC) electrical circuit of copper coil given inside the electrolyte solution. The electrolyte solutions used are sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and chloride acid (HCl). The UV-Vis spectrum of the samples shows absorbance peaks at around 214 nm to 218 nm and shouldering peaks around 245 nm to 249 nm. The first peak corresponds to the existence of copper (Cu) ionic liquid in the solution, whereas the shouldering peak is related to the occurrence of GO material. A comparison between UV-Vis spectral of graphite in dimethylformamide (DMF) and GO in Cu ionic liquid in DMF resulted in the existence of a blue shift which signifies the production of Cu ionic liquid from the Cu coils inside the electrolyte solution. Increasing the concentration of the solution increases the absorbance peaks. Furthermore, raising the number of loops yields in the increase of the absorbance value at the first peaks that show Cu ionic liquid, but tends to decrease the absorbance value of the shouldering peaks of the GO material.
