Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine learning outcome and collaborative character of students who are taught with Quantum Teaching Learning model  using concept maps media on Atomic Structure. Research population is science students of grade X , and samples selected were 30 students of experimental  and  control classes respectively. The test instrument 20 multiple choice questions, and a non-test observation sheet. Soft ware data is processed with SPSS 16.0 for Windows, acquired pre-test experimental class = control, post-test experimental> control (90 > 85). The mean gain experimental > control (0.805 > 0.693), improvement of learning outcomes experimental > control (80.5% > 69.6%). Hypothesis test (α = 0.05) t test ≥ t tab.. (5.563 > 0.687), mean improvement of learning outcomes chemistry student with QT > conventional. The mean of the experimental character of student collaboration 67.75 (good), control 57.00 (enough). Correlation of learning outcomes with student collaboration experiment 90.4% (very high), controls 60.5% (high), QT contribution to the learning outcomes and cooperation experimental class 81.7%, 36.6% control. Conclusions: The increase in the value of learning outcomes chemistry atomic structure and character of students taught by cooperative learning model QT higher than conventional methods. Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to obtain web-based interactive chemicals teaching materials. Form of research is a descriptive study. This type of research, including research and development. Subject is basic teaching materials buffer solution. The sample used in this study consisted of 20 chemistry teachers in class XI in Medan, 2 chemistry lecturers, general chemistry lecturer and a media lecturer of Universitas Negeri Medan, and 80 students. The selection of the sample in the study using purposive sampling technique. The results of the analysis based on stadart content, competence and indicator obtained, feasibility aspects of the content of 4.42 is very valid, it means very feasible and does not need to be revised, the feasibility of presenting 4.13 is valid, it means feasible and does not need to be revised. Teaching materials that have been developed then tested to students. Testing of students using two classes, experimental and control classes. Towards the experimental class students are given a developed web-based interactive chemistry teaching materials, while the control class using teaching materials that it carries. Based on test results obtained improvement of learning outcomes (gain) experimental grade students (68.25%) is higher than the increase in learning outcomes (gain) control class (61.36%). Keyword: interactive chemistry teaching materials, web, research and development (R&D), buffer solution

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this research is (1) to analyze and develop of standard chemistry textbooks that proper to use in senior high school (shs) in class of XI at semester one RSBI class; (2) To know the subject matter that proper to be taught year XI shs at semester one RSBI class; (3) To get the standard chemistry textbooks that proper to use in shs year XI at semester one RSBI class; (4) To know what the teachers’ responds for the standard chemistry textbook development of shs year XI at semester one RSBI class; (5) To know the effectiveness of standard chemistry textbook of shs for year XI at semester one RSBI class. The sample was that four chemistry textbook that used in second year class of RSBI class of shs 1 Medan, shs 1 Tebing Tinggi and shs 1 Berastagi, 2 of chemistry lecturers of state university of Medan and 11 of teachers of RSBI class of shs 1 Medan, shs 1 Tebing Tinggi and shs 1 Berastagi as respondents. The sample of students were selected by using purposive sampling, the selected samples in every class were grouped based on their achievement on chemistry in the first semester to make them in to two categories, the relative high achievement (HA) and relative low achievement (LA). Experimental class was taught by using innovated teaching using standard chemistry textbook as a learning media while the control class was taught without using standard chemistry textbook. It was found that student’s achievement was increased when they were tough by using standard chemistry textbook than that of other textbooks . The effectiveness of standard chemistry textbook is obtained 50%. It is concluded that subject matter that are exact to be taught in year XI senior high school at first semester RSBI class are: quantum mechanics atomic theory, molecular shapes, thermochemistry, reaction rate, and chemistry equilibrium.
