Abstract

This research aim to know level of rehabilitation success mangrove vegetation based on condition of bioecology especially level of mangrove growth and ecology index makrozoobenthos. Result of research indicates that thickness of vegetation of mangrove formed after rehabilitation still be thin with the range of average of between 14-54 m. Rhizophora mucronata is mangrove type giving the biggest influence in structure vegetation of mangrove Tokke-Tokke. composition of type makrozoobenthos found at vegetation of mangrove Tokke-Tokke enough heights (consisted of out of 45 types coming from 5 clast and 25 set of relativeses and predominated by Class Gastropoda), with highest abundance 77,33 ind/m2 and average of 52,13 ind/m2. Ecology index every station with different stand age is relative equal to diversity index (H') pertained medium (2.17-2.65). Uniformity index (E) and domination (D) each in categorizing stable (0.61-0.88) and low (0.10-0.22), except station I (age 10 years) with uniformity index in categorizing unstable ( 0,68). Spreading pattern of type makrozoobenthos found able to be categorized distribution of random, uniform and generally group indicating that condition of area formed at vegetation of mangrove Tokke-Tokke enough varies for every type makrozoobenthos.

Abstract

Inconventional Mining becomes more lustrous in Bangka since government gave a freedom to society in 2000 to mine tin. They mine not only on the ground but also in the coastal area, known as floating inconventional mining (TI Apung). This condition actually will destruct the coral reef ecosystem in the sea. Therefore, so many efforts should be done to keep and prevent the last coral reef ecosystem. One of them is to develop a good coral reef ecosystem into Marine Protection Area (MPA). This research is aimed to inventory the potential of coral reef ecosystem located in Teluk Limau Beach as a formulation base of MPA in Bangka. This activity was held from July 2007 till February 2008. It took the samples on July 2007, October 2007, and January 2008. The waters temperature was approximately 29OC and the salinity was approximately 33O/OO. Water pH tends to be alkali, meanwhile, the sediment pH is acid. Generally, this area has sand composition about 94,94% - 95,05% more than dust and clayey composition. Hard coral, Acropora Solitaryensis, has a solid value higher than others. Whereas, soft coral, Polyphyllia Talpina, is more dominant. Totally, both of them are about 73,9 % and coral mortality index is about 7,81%. An index of divercity coral community in Teluk Limau Beach is among 1,89484 – 2,0417. Homogeneous value (E) is about 0,58175 – 0,64411 and dominant value (D) is among 0,142722 – 0,195502. The potential of coral in Teluk Limau Beach can be developed as the Marine Protection Area in order to save the ecosystem from the pollution caused by floating inconventional mining.

Abstract

This current research aimed to know the influence of floating cage density on water quality of Ogan River for fishery activity at West Pemulutan, Sub District.Method applied in this research was survey method. River characteristics and water quality variables observed namely: the depth of river, river width, water transparance, pH and water temperature were measured directly in the field. Other variables such as carbondioxide, nitrite, nitrate, ammonia, dissolved oxygen (DO) and TOM were measured in the laboratory. The Determination of sample location was determined based on the total of floating cage, namely: without floating cage (up-stream), the highest density of floating cage (Sukamerindu), the high density floating cage (Kamal), the low density floating cage (Talang Pangeran), without floating cage (down-stream). Amount of samples was 5 - 10 % of floating cages and determined based on stratification sampling procedure. Result showed that the water quality status of Ogan River determined based on STORET method was slightly contaminated in all five locations. Ammonia yielded from floating cage activities (feeding and metabolism) polluted Ogan River water. The ammonia concentration increased as floating cage density increased

Abstract

Several kinds of algae have high economical value because its nutrition and chemical composition can be used in every social aspects. One of them is Brown algae, Sargassum crasifolium which contains photosynthesis pigment, that is chlorophyl a and c. According to Goodwin (1974) and Fitton (2005) this algae is very rich of karotenoid, a kind of fukosantin. According to Gross (1991), chloropyhl will be easy to have degradation if there is extremely environmental changing, for instances: temperature, light intensity, and acid. This research is aimed to know the influence of acid on the aggregate and rough extract spectrum system of Sargassum crasifolium in aseton and metanol by in vitro which has been formed after adding water. Adding acid either asetat acid or hydrochloric acid forms Feofitin Tang indicated by the changing of rough extract spectrum system of Sargassum crasifolium in Qy, Qx and Soret. Kinds of solvent and amount of acid do influence the extract deaggregation process of Sargassum crasifolium. Hydrochloric acid and CH3COOH are able to deaggregate the extract of Sargassum crasifolium in aseton and metanol which has been formed after adding water. If we compare them, HCL will be more significant than CH3COOH to deaggregate.

Abstract

White leg shrimp is one of 110 Penaeid species which have more profitable chances to cultivate. These shrimp could produce 10 – 20 tons per Ha compare with tiger prawn that only produce 2 – 5 tons per Ha. White leg shrimp could be harvested less than 120 days, and it more resist to the disease, not only that, the other advantages of these shrimp was its habit that live at all over the teritorial of the media so that it can be cultivate with higher density. The optimal result or product from brackishwater pond cultivation is according to how the technical nursery was done. Water quality was the most important point that must be checked and controled to gain the optimal production. The following fertilization was an alternative way to stabilize the water quality especially in traditional pond. This manner could make the bio-organism such as fitoplankton and benthos as white leg shrimp’s natural food grow continously. The study was done with four different doses of the following fertilization (2,5%, 5%, 7,5%, and 10% from forward fertilization). After 86 days rearing period, the best following fertilization shown with the dose 5% from forward fertilization. Water quality such pH, ammonium, sulfic acid and dissolved oxygen with this manner reached the best condition and significantly different from the other (p<0,05 for dissolved oxygen and sulfic acid; and p<0,01 for pH and ammonium). In spite of the water quality, the pond with 5% following fertilization got the best result of harvesting. This manner had the greatest biomass, and average body weight and was high significantly different from the other (p<0,01) The survival rate was got the highest mark although its not significantly different from the test (74,147%) and so as the average daily growth (0,194 gr per day).
